Things that still need to be fixed!

1.First off WINGS!

This is by far the most broken thing in the game. 2 of my friends get on in our private group, Friend 1 is in an "Unknown" location. Friend 2 can see me, I can't see Friend 1. Friend 1 can see me and Friend 2. Friend 2 can see Friend 1. And its random sometimes on who can see who,    ?! After shutting down the game and coming back on it fixes ....until we go somewhere else and this happens all over again. It happens most of the time when we change location or instance (going into supercruise or coming out of supercruise). This is the most basic thing and was implemented last year. Why is this still broken?!

2. NPC can target our canopies and blow them out but we can't target theirs. Why? I've noticed this is the first thing they target now, then right after our canopies go they go for our thrusters. It should be an even playing ground for all. Let us target their canopies or take the option to target ours away from them.

3. Accidental hits causing wanted status. According to the patch notes this was supposed to be fixed. If you target an enemy and if a security system authority comes in your line of fire it stated you were not supposed to get a fine or wanted. This is still happening.

4. I thought the last patch was supposed to take away the engineer weapon modifications but I'm still getting "Impulse attack" from enemies. Or is that from the rail guns?

5. Lighting. The overall lighting changes for some reason. I go on the dark side of the planet and its pitch black then for a second it gets light where I can see the terrain then goes pitch black again. The same for asteroid fields, one second the asteroids have correct lighting with shadows and AO for a second then goes to complete light where shadows disappear. It seems like the Ambient Occlusion and Gamma is messing up. Also on planet surfaces when its pitch black the rock textures are gone. I have the SRV lights on and can see the ground but the individual rocks look like pitch black rocks.

6. Dropping out of supercruise. Once again according to the patch notes of 2.1 this was supposed to be smoother. It is worse now. Dropping out takes almost 5 plus seconds to come out. Going into glide mode is about 7 seconds from supercruise. Before 2.1 this was almost instantaneous for me.

Anyone else experiencing these issues?

Any delay on SuperCruise will be based on your system specs and internet connection speed. I have no delays. It's instant for me.

Which is odd because I'm running a beastly of a machine, 5930k Intel, (2) 980Ti Hybrids, 32gb RAM, and paying for 100mbs internet. I'm able to watch 4k movies on Netflix and Vudu. So in theory I shouldn't have this issue.

1) Yeah more work on wings please.

2) They actually cant, they just manage to hit them a lot or not at all based mostly on your ship believe it or not. We actually can but it is with fixed weapons and actually aiming for the hit box. Rail guns!

3) Accidental hits is a hot topic, are you speeding and hitting some one or is some one ramming into you and dying causing a murder bounty on you?

4) They did remove mods, the impulse attack is a warning but it is from either a power play weapon or a weapon that is unmodded.

5) People wanted some of these lighting changes.

6) As CMDR Arri said.

3. It happened to a friend who started playing the game. All 3 of us were in a Resource Extraction Site (neither low, hazardous, it was just RES) and he only has gimballed weapons and was only targetting "Wanted" ships as I was watching him pretty closely and he bacme wanted. It sucks to see all that progress in a RES get blown up for a new guy. I don't know exactly what happened in this case but it has happened to me before.

5. Thats understable about wanting the lighting changes but it looks like game is bouncing back and forth between the new and the old lighting changes on the fly. It shouldn't do that lol.

3) Well today I had a farming stent ruined by a T-9 hitting me head on in a RES while running from pirates and it killed him and I became wanted so I think stuff like THAT in particular needs looking at.(I mean     he hit me!)

2) I've heard cracks in NPC canopies countless times. I think it takes 4 to fully breach it right?
3) Accidental hits is easy with Beams for more sustained damage and more so for Turet Beams and when they are on Fire At Will shooting off screen or at Target but you get Cops doing their duty whilst "you interfere". I gave up turets but can use FireGroup Switching for any swoopers.
4) Yeah it's not a MOD.
5) Seems you got a GPU glitch. I doubt you mean the gradual transitions to enable us to see the surface rather than total darkness.
6) I'm back into OPEN now NPC got sorted but my Load Screens into Instances can still take 1min (was 10 to 20mins on 2.1 release) due to Engineers being not that "illusive".

Accidental friendly fire was fixed very early in the games development. As it stands you can hit authority ship's shields up to a threshold before you are given an Assault bounty. After hitting a authority ship, there is a cooldown for forgiveness. Enough damage before the cooldown is up, and you're tagged. If you accidentally hit a shield-less authority ship, there is no threshold and you are tagged for an assault. If you hit an unresolved player or NPC, or one that is clean you are tagged for assault.

Any behavior beyond this should be reported as a bug. Good luck out there.

Are you asking for enemies to not target, or not damage, your canopy? If the latter, why shouldn't your canopy be damaged? If the former, why do you think this?

You can get away with small indiscretions, when you have a legitimate target selected.

Railgun impacts report impulse attack.

Plasma accelerator impacts report heat attack.

Even if you could target an enemies canopy what do you think that will accomplish? a countdown timer for at the very minimum 5 minutes? Probably 15 or more for reasonable levelled enemies, are you really in fights against a single enemy that last more than 15 minutes? Besides you can still cause the same effect by destroying their life support, which is target-able.

7. Miners Refinery / Cargo Hold. Refinery doesn't let pilot select which fragment types they want. Or conversely doesn't permit the pilot to determine which canisters to auto eject. Gallite for example, should be set to auto eject upon refining because it is essentially valueless. Yet we have to do that manually. Because there is no intelligence in the current system the collector limpets will seek and pick up that canister and immediately bring it back at the expense of more wasted time bringing in profitable material. Yes you can work around it. No that wastes time. No it isn't a feature it's a poor design issue that should be corrected.

8. ALL Limpets Everywhere exploding for all players of a wing when anybody exits to menu.

9. The cargo hold hatch malfunctioning with no damage and not working correctly. Requiring you to execute the work around for issue #8.

You are the miner, the system depends on your intelligence, just like the rest of the game. You can easily purge your refinery of unwanted ore in the right hand panel. I have a reasonable work-around for dumping unwanted refined material if you are interested.

I know this might be a minor thing, but I think that hyperspace should be fixed. Seeing those graphical issues where some parts of it look like bad quality pictures with extra white spacing is immersion breaking, at least for me. The white clouds in hyperspace most of all look terrible since 2.1/1.6.

8. Jettison all materials button. I have Elite Dangerous only and so materials are 99% useless for me. Give me a button to jettison/destroy them all.

Number '3' for the accidental hits should be removed from the list. This has been fixed. The problem is that it is impossible for the AI to read our minds and tell the difference between an accidental hit and an intentional one. The only way that the AI can judge is to accept damage up to a certain threshold. Once you've exceeded that threshold then the gloves come off.

It is much easier to exceed this threshold using beam lasers then it is with pulse or burst.

You can bind a key for Jettison all Cargo. It's available in the 'Controls' section of the game menu.
