You are the miner, the system depends on your intelligence, just like the rest of the game. You can easily purge your refinery of unwanted ore in the right hand panel. I have a reasonable work-around for dumping unwanted refined material if you are interested.

Again you don't know what you are talking about. The issue isn't the refinery. The issue is that rocks that have the 3Ps also have crap on them. The refinery refines this. Nobody watches the refinery constantly because they keep an eye out for enemies and fragments and the rocks. The cargo is put into canister form. Good canisters are 3Ps everything else save mid range stuff is crap. Such as Gallite, and Indite. These you want to dump. Right as you say easy peasy. Well the collectors immediately go pick this up and put it back in your hull. This is where it should be a setting where you can prevent this action. Until you mine and have an understanding you dont know what you are talking about Mohrgan stick to combat. It's what made you deadly not shooting rocks.

First, Im not trying to be jerky.

Second, why is it 5 minutes after I've posted about a real problem 2 years after a release and post a major update into the expansion pack there is someone telling me that it works perfect and it can be easily worked around by the existing system?

Third, If you have a better suggestion than just do it the way you've been doing it great. But if your suggestion is to use the work around which is both inefficient and ridiculous then yes, please stick to commenting on what you know about and not on what you dont. If that offends you please ask mommy to pat your back, help you close your eyes and put you down for a nap.

There is a SET CARGO FILTERS function already programmed into the game. Why is this not allowing pilots to filter particular canisters of material?

I apologize if you were offended. Wasn't my intent. My intent was to contribute to the thread. Just because you don't see there is an issue with functionality here doesn't mean there isn't one. Ok I'll make that my last contribution to this thread thanks.

Then it must just come naturally to you.

Because, what you are saying isn't a real problem. There is a purge function built right into the refinery interface, and there is no expectation for automated systems in a game that has none, except for a legacy docking computer.

You have zero idea what the work around I mentioned is, nor do you have any idea of it's efficiency.

Then for someone who doesn't want to be taken as jerky, you take the very next opportunity to be jerky. <that wasn't necessary>

I offered some constructive criticism as well as feedback for the game.

The intent was not malicious.

I clarified as much.

I have apologized for the offense you took which was not intended.

It is unfair for you or anybody else on these forums to be dismissive of game mechanics which do not work well as claim they are not problems.

Further, if you claim to have a "work around" by very definition there is a "problem" to be worked around.

Moreover should your work around be more efficient than game code which works the way it does in the current CARGO FILTERS I will happily withdraw my contributions and yield to your superior knowledge.

Maybe in my 150+ hours of mining I haven't figured it out just yet. It is certainly possible.
