Things to make and do for Comedy effect!

People keep complaining about the "Grinding" nature of this game. I keep it fresh by setting myself mini-goals to achieve. It might be getting a system permit, getting a ship discount, fully a-rating a ship - whatever. Something to work towards. Try it - it's fun! There is no real point in endlessly grinding credits - you can't compare your score to anyone else's and the game never ends.

Here are a few suggestions you might like to try.

The King Cobra! - Get a Mark III Cobra. A-Rate everything you can, then get all the engineers upgrades to the highest level. At that point you can run god-knows-what weapons on what should be the Ultimate Cobra!

1984, and all that. Get a Mark III Cobra. Build it as close as you can to the original game with only fixed lasers and missiles, a fuel scoop.

The Edmund. Get an Adder, A-Rate, and paint it Black.

The King Edmund. Get an adder, A-Rate, paint it black, get all engineer's upgrades.

The hit-and-run. Take a small ship and the enhanced drive and railguns. Attack a anaconda, and use hit-and-run tactics to defeat it before you run out of Ammo.


Enough of ships!

The Witness. Interdict a Human player and ask "Have you considered allowing the Lord Jesus into your life?". Give them a gift after you've chatted to them, and jump away.

The comedian. Park outside a busy station and swap jokes with the player ships. If anyone makes you laugh, give them a reward of some cargo.

The Dumbo. Park outside a busy station and ask inane and pointless questions of other commanders. Like "How do I turn on the windscreen wipers???". "It doesn't have any!". "But it's raining today!!". "In space?".....

The Alternative comedian. Try to convince a newbie they need "interdiction mines" to escape interdictions. Offer to drop some for them, and instead drop some prox mines. Watch them try to scoop up the mines. Feel bad about yourself. Maybe drop some gold for them for "being a good sport" afterwards.

The Bull. Try to win a battle by just ramming the opponent repeatedly. No weapons in use.

The PackRat. Fill your hold with valuables scraped up from a planet's surface and combat zones.

The Magpie. Visit a fight and launch collection drones to collect debris after a few ships go down. (often helps with the Engineers visits....)

The Mechanic. Try playing with never, ever paying for repairs. Use an AFMU for every repair and only restock it from synthesis. Okay. You can allow stations to repair your Hull (as the AFMU can't do that).

The Evil Knievel - Jump your SRV over your ship. Or, better yet, someone else's.

The SAM7 - Shoot down a ship using an SRV (very tough!)

The spoilsport - hang around a combat zone with an empty hold and no cargo. Proceed to annoy the biowaste out of the combatants by using your ECM as often as possible to fudge up *EVERYONE'S* missiles! Additional points if you have point defence as well.

As you can see - there is a lot of fun to be had here. Quite a lot of "Hold my beer and watch this" moments, and chance of appearing in Jackass.
