Think I might wait for release.

Once game is more polished and feature complete (including tutorials of some kind) I'm sure it will be a lot easier to get into. This is beta, after all. No shame in waiting until the game is ready for release. Just the mission system itself is in its infancy and we're only seeing the very rough of early beta in general.

Sorry, but I am finding this just too hard. I know it's beta and the lack of tutorial doesn't help, but saying that, I want to enjoy a game that I have bought and it's just winding me up.

I hate that I just cannot travel far with my starting ship. It seems to make buying and selling really hard. I try doing missions, and have no idea where to go. I find it way too hard to find pirates, it's all so vague.

I don't want to be hand fed but I feel I have a lack of patience at the moment for a game like this. I will keep trying with every patch and hopefully be back when some changes have been made, if they are made.

Have fun guys.

To make it somehow simple, i watched a youtube video (cant be to look it up, takes longer than describing) just before the release.
The guy there gave me a hint which actually makes the game straight forward and easy if you need some credits at the early (well probably later too) stage:

Dock on a station, go to the commodity market, there you will have several columns. The far right one tells you the average price of the goods in the universe.
So, now, you look for an item in this list that has a very very low "Sell" price compared to the "Average price". You load up your cargo bay with it, travel to the next star system in the hope that the station there will buy it for double the price you bought it for. Easy.

I did that yesterday with the H.E. suits. Average price in the universe was 250, i bought it at the station for 100, and sold it only one jump away for 270. I did that a couple of times and i had some credits to start with.

Good luck.^^

Don't set your targets too high. There are a lot of things I have not used yet, but I hope I have a life time left to do so.

Just start with a simple grind. Go to Chango, buy fish and sell to Aulin. Do that a couple of times. Try something else to buy and sell, and take a look at the neighbours. Try to buy and sell between argicultural and technical systems. Make this your life raft, and extend it bit by bit.

I haven't done any missions yet, I guess most of us have barely, the system appeared in this release.

Wait a minute, so its better to self destruct than repair the hull?

sure - because with a 12% hull i stand little chance to survive any encounter and just to make the money to be back at starting point?! no thanks, there are free sidewinders galore :p

There's one thing this game does seem to have.....It appears it may be quite addictive.

I feel a real strong urge to log back on! Maybe because it is so challenging. Hmmmm.

you must understand that the game is not meant for STARTER ship with starter weapons to be even possible.

starting must be very careful and you must evolve and improve your skill and wealth, find the best ship/weapon/occupation, you cannot jump into a world and expect to do even acceptable.

pirates must be attacked when you ready, same with trading, find a good route and earn for hauler and then it's much faster, then in no time you can afford lykon 6 and then you will have millions.

gave is pretty easy, but not with starting ships doing everything, you must find what best suits you and practice, i would start only simple missions and not attack or go somewhere you have no clue where, choose them carefully ;)
