Ships Think one would be able to Piggy Back a Sidewinder on a Type 7?

Just was having a look at all the hatches etc on the Type 7, included the extra dorsal hard-point and I was wondering, if one could, theoretically, attach a Sidewinder to the top side hatch like thing.
Could Mate with the Universal Cargo Hatch on the underside of the sidewinder.
Fit snuggle into the depression on the Hull of the Type 7
And at ~50 tons not be much of a burden to the Transporter

Why???????????? just kidding ;)

Although it looks feasible I suspect there may be an issue having it outside the hull with the FSD active, remember the FSD won't activate until the hardpoints are retracted and they take up a lot less volume than a Sidey, the only mention of larger ships carrying a smaller one is the Anaconda carrying a Sidey internally.

I suspect that has more to do with power flow than it does with any guns sticking out. There is a precedent for one ship taking another into a hyperjump; if someone tethers to you using an FSD interdictor while you are jumping, they will be pulled along to the destination system.

Yeah, I know the Anaconda should be able to carry one internally, and we saw the trailer with the F63 launch from one

Didnt consider the FSD field or such; I dont know as to why gear/cargo scoop or hardpoints inhibit the FSD

As to Why, I am currently exploring in a Type 7, and though it would be neat to have brought my Sidewinder along to ferry the SRV to the surface once Horisions comes about.

The Type 7 and the Sidewinder being my two ships of preference.

I don't know... I prefer the Lakonda Type 7:

Heh, I had a Eagauler before once

I hope they can eventually implement this type of system for a multi-person crew in some form or fashion, be it a Type 7, Anaconda, or some other ship. Mostly, I think it'd be great when jumping into a system with a secondary some 300KLS away. The main ship can stay in the primary to scoop or scan while the smaller ship detaches to go scan the distant secondary. They can meet up in the next system on the route. The small ship doesn't need a fuel scoop, it just receives fuel from the main.

Now that I have seen your image, that top hatch looks suspiciously like what on the Anaconda would be a hangar bay door, and has been hinted at for the Federal Gunship, too. Maybe the T7 will also be able to carry a Condor inside?

Size 6 internal (64 ton) might allow for a small ship and they all have one....
