Thinking Of Getting A Bounty Hunting Ship

The Cobra is a great all rounder but is the 3300AD jack of all trades, master of nought.

I keep on looking at a Viper but atm I'm using my fully upgraded eagle for bounty hunting very successfully. Get a good power plant/distributor a pair of beams and a rail gun. There are a few fight I've had to run from but I've taken on Anacondas perfectly happily and lived to cash the cheque!

And if it all does go pear shaped the rebuy cost is only a 25K Cr...

I've run A Class Eagles, Cobras and Vipers extensively. My personal preference is a Viper, better acceleration and lateral thrust and much better hard point placement. The Eagle is cheap and a lot of fun, but it lacks the utility and internal slots to be equiped fully for bounty hunting.

The only real drawback over a Cobra is you'll generally be flying without a cargo hold in a Viper so there's no salvaging any goods the pirates drop. This is a non-issue if you don't want to take the risk in smuggling them into a black market.
