I think I've got a line crossed somewhere. I use the flight stick for entering text and for all the menus, apologies for the misunderstanding. I didn't understand what Requiem Mortis meant.
I reread my post and can see why the confusion may have been caused. I meant none of the Xbox controller buttons could be mapped to flight controls or used for menu navigation but that the chat pad could still be used for text input. The Xbox controller can also be used to connect a headset, and keeping the Xbox controller connected via USB prevents it going to sleep.

Just make sure to buy the correct version for the device your playing on, PS4's hotas will not work on the XBox one and visa versa; However, ironically, either will work on a pc. Though there is an update one can get via a pc for the ps4's hotas (not sure of the xbox hotas). I didn't noticed any difference after the supposed update than prior.
