Since we love to speak about coming dlcs, how about the third anniversary of the game? What do you expect?

I’m definitely with you guys in hopes we get something. I’m not counting on it just in case we don’t. Anyway while it’s true the pandemic derailed 1st yr anniversary plans they made up for it last year with the cupcake shop and white and black ruffed lemur. Since PC and jwe never got anything in the form of content I believe after I don’t expect to either.
Coaster only got one anniversary gift during ~three years of life. Zoo probably won't get another one, so I'm expecting nothing.
If we do get something, it will undoubtedly be a simple animal like the black-and-white ruffed lemur was (red ruffed lemur as a solid base). Personally I would hope for the Sumatran tiger, or a true Eurasian wolf.
What's kinda nice about anniversary stuff is that there's a legit deadline unlike paid dlc, if there's nothing by novemeber 5th we aren't getting anything.
I'm with Paul on this one, I don't wanna get my hopes up for something, even small, but if we did I'd expect something like last year: a relatively simple animal and maybe a new shop. Something like the American flamingo or Sumatran tiger

IMO, it’s not impossible they’ll do some « who’s that pokemon » image to tease something for the anniversary, like they did with the lemur last year.
And that’s not impossible neither they’ll tease a flying animal (possibly bird) free for everyone we’ll can use with the walkable exhibit (remind it’s also free for everyone with the 1.11).
Indeed, it could be very useful to tease something bigger and go us all totally crazy, which could be a good marketing move to launch something bigger, so maybe more expensive (remind the JWE2 Dominion DLC) !!
Like this mini piece of cheese they give you in supermarket that’s delicious, it might make us want to buy it next month !

I know it's for players to experiment with, but why would we all get that for free if there aren't any animals in the base game that can use it?

Well, best case scenario is we get something! I’m not EXPECTING anything, but if we DID get something, I’d hope for the following:
•European Bison (habitat species, adds a headliner for European sections)
•3-5 species of Butterfly/Moth (new walkthrough exhibit species with interspecies enrichments)

I think the anniversary will just be the update 1.11.1 with maybe the special balloons again. I don't think we'll get another animal, but if we do get one I'm sure it will be something like a clone or reskin. American black bear would fit nicely with the Halloween/North American vibes of the DLC, and would be the large animal that we are somehow missing with the pack. Another possibility is that we get a normal exhibit animal, since the bat is replacing the standard exhibit in the DLC.
I don't expect anything. The balloons again would be fun. But who knows....and than a second exhibit animal that can sit on the shoulder of the educator would be an option maybe.because there are not a lot of those. So what i can com up with now, it is only the gecko.

They added the underwater plant feeder before any animals could use it, too. Also, the aquatic exhibit biome technically arrived with the free update even though only the diamondback terrapin could spawn it. Then they added the capybara in a DLC for the underwater plant feeder, and further aquatic exhibit animals for the aquatic biome exhibit.
This is just a classic case of everyone getting overexcited and reading way too much into something that's probably totally innocuous.
True, true, but what base game animals could be updated to use it? Because the feeder came intended for the beaver, then later on the capybara, and possibly for any herbivorous base game animal that may or may not.be updated
More likely a 1.11.2 or 1.11.3 if we have patches after the release. I hope we will have a new stand for souvenier or food. Also I think the new exibith system is for something will come in third anniversary, I have a feeling that this is a hint for the future. Also the report mentioned PZ will have more life in the FY23
