This changes things

So there we have it folk. They listened to us and we got more animals in new dlc. I am still not over it lol, so exciting.

Now I am very aware that these animal packs will be exception rather than rule. So there lays my question for you :

If frontier will give us, let's say, two more all animal packs ( 7+1 ), what would you like to see in them ?

I'll give my two ideas as examples

"Carnivores" animal pack :
-African Leopard
-Arctic Fox
-Iberian Lynx
-Tasmanian Devil
-Cougar
-Striped Hyena
-Ocelot

"Birds" animal pack ( without flying ) :
-Emu
-Shoebill
-Japanese Crane
-Australian Pelican
-Magellanic Penguin
-African Grey Crowned Crane
-Capercaillie

This would, I think, free up the space for the 4 animal, scenery/builing packs to be more niche and specific

I think a desert park would fit this new model perfectly, but for now I want to focus on the just announced pack and I'll think about what's next after the release of the SEA pack.

I think that maybe from now on they mix both pack, for example, as we have a lot of african theme pieces maybe they give us an African animal pack with 8 animals, and later on, idk, a North American pack with Wild West theme and 5 animals, maybe.
Idk, I think thay are going to switch from one to another type, but we have 3+ months to think and theorize about it, right now I'm going to focus on this awesome pack  :)

Honestly I feel like they just need to do an essential animals pack and an avian pack (at the least). The Essential animals wouldn't really be a theme, but would cover some of the more highly requested animals, and, with a couple of exceptions would not need a animal rig, I don't think.,

Essential animals:
African White Rhino
Meerkat (new rig obviously)
Amur Leopard
Capybara (probably a new rig)
Cougar
Moose
Emu
Exhibit: King Cobra

I so wanted to add a second penguin, otter or sea lion in there, but ultimately I think this would be a fairly well rounded global representation.

Avian:

Toucan
Bald Eagle
Australian Pelican
Rhinoceros Hornbill
Hyacinth Macaw
Scarlet Macaw
Secretary Bird
Exhibit: Kiwi

I'd personally put in a shoebill stork or Marabou Stork for the African representation, but it seems the Secretary bird is more requested.

There's a ton of other animals I'd like to see, and could easily make another half dozen packs, but I think these would cover most of the essential animals missing.

I think that we could see and African animal pack with of course the white/black rhino, meerkat, african leopard, some antelopes, even the fossa. And with the avian pack, an option could be a 5 animals first avian pack, with the "materials" to build aviaries and so, and then a second 8 animals avian pack with no scenery or pieces, and that way we'll get 13 free-flying birds (and maybe bats, who knows). Of course more birds could be great, but with 13 we could have a solid representation though.

I think African animal pack would come nicely, as we already have african themed objects.

I would love to see this African animals pack:
  • White rhino
  • Meerkat
  • Honey Badger (Ratel)
  • Generuk
  • Secretary bird
  • Crested porcupine - that would be something totally different, imagine the spines they would have)
  • Fennec fox

I also hope that Africa will get such an pack, as we already have some building pieces for this continent. In this case I would absolutely agree to add some Madagascan species. I would like if it would be like:
1. White/black rhinoceros
2. Meerkat
3. Colobus
4. Red river hog
5. African penguin
6. Fossa
7. Sifaka
8. Panther chameleon
Would really like some kind of antelope too, but unsure which one as there are still a lot being missed (imapala, gerenuk, eland, kudu,...). An other equid would be very welcome too.
For an avian pack I think we are still missing a lot of building pieces, so I'm not sure it could be a exclusively animal pack. For other taxonomic packs I just see a carnivore pack, maybe primates, I don't belive that the others would be very popular.

African pack:
1. Southern White Rhino
2. Meerkat
3. Grey Crowned Crane
4. Crested Porcupine
5. Hamadryas Baboon
6. Fennec Fox
7. Addax
8. Orange Baboon Tarantula [E]

Endangered Pack:
1. Przewalski's horse
2. Siamang
3. Darwin's fox
4. Black lion tamarin
5. Wild Water Buffalo
6. Iberian lynx
7. Matschie's tree-kangaroo
8. Mangshan pitviper [E]

Not a big fan of only carnivore/herbivore or specific species packs.

I love that endangered species pack, but I'm afraid they wouldn't put some many hoofed animals, but if they do I'd pay whatever for it :)

If there were two more animal packs with 8 species, these are the two I would choose (you may notice an ongoing theme from previous posters):

Africa Animal Pack
Bat eared fox
Cape crested porcupine
Eastern black rhinoceros
Meerkat
Red capped mangabey
Red river hog
Secretary bird OR Southern ground hornbill
Exhibit: Jackson's chameleon

Conservation Animal Pack
Coquerel's sifaka
Hawaiian goose
Iberian lynx
Northern helmeted curassow
Owston's civet
Scimitar horned oryx
Southern muriqui
Exhibit: Mountain chicken OR Kihansi spray toad
