This Commander was so polite

Many of you will remember with some mixture of joy and horror my previous video of me ramming someone's Asp (chuckles under his breath) https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-It-may-make-you-mad!-Watch-at-own-discretion

Anyway, it happened AGAIN, can you believe it? But this time no one was hurt, and the nice Commander even apologized for getting between me and my jump. How nice. You know, you can always tell when someone has been raised right (or not).

The last time I was rammed, the rammer apologised and paid my repair costs by dropping valuable cargo. It was nice to see some civilized behavior in a civilized high security system. I have no complaints about his raising.

This happened in Mobius.

Yes, I accept that. It was rather toolish. But it's also "part of the game". The game allows people to be tools.

If I had to choose which tool to be, I'd pick "bone saw".

Yes, this is true and I've always maintained that if anybody wants to complain about being ganked/rammed/whatevered to oblivion then they should complain to FD as it's their game mechanics that allow it.

People have a personal responsibility too.
I never ganked/bullied/grieved anybody in my entire life and I will not use a game as an excuse to do so ever.
To me it shows weakness of character.

I am of course not talking about piracy gameplay and such, although I would never pirate another human myself either.

A video game is not real life. It's a simple, yet very very important concept to understand. If you really can't separate things that happen in a video game from real life then you probably shouldn't be playing them and you definitely shouldn't be allowed anywhere near firearms of any description.

I've always found it fascinating when people compare actions in a game to real life. If someone charges me rent in a game of Monopoly and it bankrupts me I don't feel bullied or griefed.

If you think that bullying/harassing people in the context of a game world is not possible then you are the one who is missing out on a very simple and important concept.
It is not about not understanding the difference between real life and a game. That is not the issue here. It is about how you interact with other human beings. You can do this in a toxic way in a game, just as in real life.
I know that adding toxicity to a game is normal for many gamers. Not for me though.

Ganking is just an unfair fight, not sure why you bringing this into comparison with real life bullies and real life harassment.

It's not bullying to destroy somebody's ship in a game about destroying spaceships.

Call it what you want, the vid in the OP was lame behavior that gets you nothing and is just annoying to others. Yes you can do it. No, i dont care if its technically griefing, ganking or whatever. Its just lame any way you put it.

You rear-ended the other ship and then advised him to be more careful next time.

I guess you are one of those dudes that think; because you have the biggest ship, you can just run over anyone else and it becomes their fault.

Yes, yes I am. I earned that ship. Blood, sweat and tears. Flying a Cutter gives me privileges others only dream about. Like, ever notice how BMW drivers are the worst? That's Cutter, dialed up to 11.
