This forum is very, very quiet.

Hello Commanders (and prospective Commanders like me),

I have noticed the PS4 forum is pretty much tumbled weed central? Is that a consequence of there been not massive interest from the PS4 community or just because its not available yet? Was the Xbox situation similar? I must admit I am a bit nervous for the PS4 release of ED even though I am totally excited for it personally. I am really hopeful it will be a sucess on PS4 and that lots of people get involved but, at the moment its just so damn quiet.

Even the Sony blogs which usually push a lot of news on games approaching have only had one post so far, the launch trailer. Then again it seems FDev don't put much out generally and have been pretty quiet on PS4 info.

Unreleased - possibly four months from launch, so discussion on current and soon to be released games (eg Horizons: Zero Dawn).
Niche game - reduced pool to contribute. A number are already PC or Xbox players.
Official forums - First port of call may be Reddit or Official PlayStation forums (threads on both already).
Initial topics discussed out - 2 pages so far isn't bad, covering Pro, VR, HOTAS, introductions, preorders, account transfer, beta.

Quiet is not unexpected IMO. It'll probably pick up next month after PAX East, where there should be more info, and possibly an actual date.

I will play on a ps4. I have been waiting for months. I don't currently have the game or a release date other than Q2.

What am I going to talk about?

Forums specific to a platform are generally quiet when said platform isn't out yet.

I think the real problem is that Frontier 'teased' a PS4 version but never followed it up with more screens or gameplay, no concrete details as to what the Pro mode will do, nothing about PSVR and nothing but a Q2 release date that could mean late June. When we get all this, and a confirmed release (and the ability to pre-order) ,then I would expect the forum to pick up. So please Frontier, get the PR machine into gear and generate some interest. For the record I'm buying this regardless so take my money.

Yeh I must admit information was very light after the initial teaser. I thought about a PS4 Pro but don't even have a 4K TV at the moment so will hold off even though there is now a "boost" mode on the PS4 Pro to harness the extra power for existing games in the latest beta system software update, so it might benefit at 1080p anyway.

Everything you could want to learn or discuss about the game is in other forums.

When you get down to the nuts and bolts of forming groups and highlighting platform specific problems, then you should see more activity here.

I think its more PS4 specific stuff, i.e whats extra on the PS4 Pro edition, compared to the poor mans PS4 I have. What plans are instore the the PS4 controller specific stuff which was teased. PSVR is it happening? Is there PS4 Keyboard support? PS4 HOTAS support? What does it look like and perform like specifically on PS4? I hear what you are saying with respect to the game itself and I have learnt a whole load on the forums here.

Exactly. I have a lot of similar questions (keyboard support, VR support, PS4 Pro support, etc) myself. Really at this point I think we're all waiting for a feature list and release date. Although who doesn't love a bit of rampant speculation? :)
