I have been making an extra effort each evening to sit down at my desk and play a mission, because I don't want this game to fail. To be honest, the game isn't all that bad if it wasn't for the terrible frame rates.. The graphics are a bit iffy on surfaces yes and the FPS is not really great at all, however, there is a good game hidden there somewhere deep within and I do believe that if they sort out the performance issues as a priority, things will start to come together. Yes there are annoying bugs, but I think what's hurting the game most is the dog awful performance of the game which makes it almost unplayable at times. The UI isn't that bad, it's a bit annoying but I can live with that for now, not something I would say is a priority. I am still very supportive of FDEV and want this to succeed.
I know lots of people have said they should have delayed.. but I am not one of those. I have waited too long for some extra content already and I think if it would have been delayed till the end of the year, I might have given up all together and looked at other space games. I am a bit miffed about the whole console thing though, I always thought a console is for a quick fix for gaming where you sit in front of the TV and play FIFA for a couple of hours.. Elite to me is a PC game throughout, and couldn't imagine playing it on a console.. I guess I must be wrong or they wouldn't be focusing on it so much.
I still have confidence that FDEV will produce a very good game out of this, given a bit more time.
