Hey all.. Just want to say that this game keeps getting better for me. I have always wanted to travel from system to system and daydreamed of how since I was young. Growing up in Eastern Maine and watching the aurora will do that to folks. Plus I grew up in the age of Carl Sagan and Cosmos. I have been going from trade to bounty hunter as the mood strikes and last week decided to move into exploration. I am so glad I did. Where else can you find sights like this??? Skimming the rings of a ringed planet at close range. And a view of the milky way in the background. AWESOME!!!!!! Now I am thinking about hooking my rig up to our 52" flatscreen to see what that would look like. lol.. the wife will kill me..

I agree - get the Rift and you will often just sit there immersed in the wonder of a world wrapped around you.

The game is visually quite lovely on my smallish screen laptop so i cant imagine how much of a treat it'd be on a large screen. One of ED's strongest spots is the sense of awe you feel when coming across some of the stellar scenes.

Must admit to having a 'Wow' moment too

When dogfighting a tough ship in orbit around a ringed gas giant...... almost got distracted by the view , instead of focusing on killing the player

Last night I got my angle wrong on the wanted ship I was taking out and he was able to hide in the sun. I was able to change the angle and down him. Sometimes I wonder whether its my bad flying or the AI is deliberately using the sun. Either way it makes gameplay more interesting.

I still get a wow moment when I drop out on top of a planet or station. It's a bit of a false piece of game play because there is no reason to be dropped out so close, but it does add an interesting element to game play.

How about you stop that <load of potatose>. Every one of us disapointed players have had the same reaction as the OP at first. The game is awesome at first in some aspects.
And then the realization that ED is a pretty screensaver, but nothing else.

Its depressing when so many people are enjoying the game and we get a thread about that, and as usual we get those who just have to pollute it 'just because'.

If you dislike the game stop playing it and go away. Post your bile in one of the dedicated threads and let those who are having fun talk about it without being hampered by the likes of you.

I only have a 40" flatscreen but its bloody awesme on that :) some amazing sights to behold :) I love it when you are flying down to the rings and as you get closer you start to see the dots of asteroids, and then flying fast along parrallel to the rings ... what a sight to behold when its up close :)

I can put the game up on my 55 LG screen to show of to friends, they sit in the sofa sipping coffee while I play or vice versa :D
Great way to advertise the game :D

Please read the post I was answering to. My post didn't come out of the blue.
Beside, I have no bile against the game or the devs themselves (though I do hold some grudge against them for releasing the game way too early). My bile is directed at the forums <members> who failed to provide FD with the objective criticism that they needed to make a good game, so I don't see why I would play the game I'm still trying to enjoy (and which I paid for) and leave you in peace.

People are posting about seeing interesting things. You are posting about how dull you think everything is and thus off topic and just trolling.
