This game NEEDS unlimited storage, at least until they fix the game

I've had my main zoo get corrupt twice, both times making a large amount of my animals infertile in that zoo (they were fine if I moved them to another zoo). Anyway rather than keep trying to save that zoo I put 140 hours into I decided I'd give it up. Luckily I managed to save all my animals from that zoo, unluckily they were all sent to my trade centre which now holds 169 animals out of 30. This means I'm unable to purchase any animals which is a problem for me since I was breeding lions and needed new males regularly. I used to use zoos for storage but 169 animals is way too much so now I'm unable to play the game until I clear them all out, many of which are still babies so I can't even release/trade them if I wanted to.

So as the title says. the trade centre needs to be made unlimited until you fix the huge problem with your game where game files won't load or get corrupt because that simply should not be happening in a fully released game. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, many people have put more hours into their zoo's than my 140 and lost their zoo through no fault of their own.

I totally agree, the storrage is way to small . Also i don't understand why you can select 1 animal in the tradecenter and send it to your so, one buy one.. but in challenge and sandbox you can multiselect and sent them in batched to you zoo

Yes. Fix the darned 'bug' (read: MAJOR FLAW that should have been fixed before even releasing the game!) that corrupts save games. I have a zoo with - I recently calculated this - well over 200 hours in it and several times the save games that are tied to this zoo were corrupted. I lost progress at least three times now, which meant losing habitats/buildings/other changes to my zoo and having to re-do them. It also meant suddenly being faced with an overflow of animals in my trade center, which made buying animals impossible because quite a lot of those animals were from a new habitat (so I hadn't built one) and were babies, so I couldn't trade them. It's absolutely insane to see a game like this with such HUGE flaws go live. Today I've tried loading my old zoo again, and ended up having to go back to January 5(!) before I had a save game that wasn't corrupt.

Oh, and it's only because of my own diligence that I even HAVE save games that go back to January 5 (or even December), because for some ridiculous reason the developers didn't implement a manual save system so gamers can name their files and save a backup for however many times they want. Oh, and they also neglected to implement the possibility of NAMING save files, so you have to guess which one of the stupidly long 'names' is which zoo (like 'dc294p092fbv244c' etc.).

Yes, I'm quite angry at the moment, because this has been happening EVER SINCE THE SO-CALLED 'BETA' and it still isn't fixed!

You can move babies into quarantine and they will age there if that helps any (same for any adult animal too), at the very least moving some into quarantine will unlock the space in your trade centre.

yes you can put them in to quarantine, but let them stay there a bit to long and you get protesters

I totally agree.
While troubleshooting to rescue my 2nd big zoo after corrupt savegames from one minute to the other, I now have close to 200 animals in my trade center and moreover can't finish the rhino challenge (the hat will be missing).
My motivation to start over again with that packed trade center is close to zero. First, those animals belong to an other zoo, second starting over now would basically mean to rebuild that last zoo.

Agreed. Even without this bug eating two of my zoos - the second one being the replacement for the first one - a storage capacity of 30 per franchise is ridiculously low. It's even low for a single large zoo if you want to keep your populations healthy and non-incest-y, and you have to engage in some serious trickery - e.g. build small zoos just for the purpose of "storing" animals in quarantine - to get around storage limitations in franchise.
If there has to be a storage limit at all I would say that this one is around one magnitude too low.

::knock on wood and whisper:: I have been lucky on not losing any zoos, but I also make sure that I save my franchise b4 the save upon exit. I am not saying that this solves any issue, I also know that I haven't put in as many hours as many have. I stated in another thread what I thought might be a possible solution to storage. It may not help as much when closing a zoo, but I will restate it here anyway. Have a Animal Trade Center for the entire franchise, a bit bigger would be nice. But then also have a Zoo specific Trade Center. Animals in the zoo specific can only go to the zoo or the Franchise Trade Center. The Franchise Trade Center can send and receive from the market and send animals to the zoo trade center, but not to habitats.

Simply my simple idea. I don't know if it is doable or would help any.

Jep the same here.
Due to numerous crashs upon save and exit, I always make a save before I save & exit, but it didn't prevent the loss on Saturday.

It didn't even help that I backed up my save games to another folder; no matter which save file I try of that one zoo, they're all corrupted somehow.

Did you delete all the save files for that zoo in the folder that are more recent than the ones you want to try? It always uses the most recent save in franchise regardless of which one you pick. Usually at the very least the save file you loaded your last game session from should still work. (The only problem is that you can't do much with it except extract animals, because games saved after that will once again be corrupted as soon as you use storage.)

I have to disagree on your last point.
The first time I had this problem after the DLC-Update I managed to get my zoo running again and also had pretty messed up trade center. After cleaning this mess the zoo still works til this day and there was a lot of "traffic" in the trade center since.
However it might be the case that this zoo triggered the loss of the newer one as it was the zoo I switched to in order to look something up before the saves of the other one got corrupt.

Oh, that's good to know. My zoos were lost before the DLC, so maybe there is hope for zoos lost after that patch and going back to an earlier save makes them truly recoverable. Thanks for the heads-up!

Yeah, I deleted all the save files that were in the save games folder before I tried it again, but it didn't work. I'll just play my other franchise zoo and wait until the next patch to see if it suddenly works again.
