So, jumped to Ho Hsi in my lovely new Viper, kitted out slightly but still a long way to go. I was thinking of hitting up some bounties at a resource site but then I see a strong signal source on the navigation screen and decide i'll have some of that.
I use voice attack to disengage and ASTRA gladly agrees and in I drop. I find..nothing, no ships, just some illegal cargo and as my viper has no cargo deck there was nothing for me to get involved in. Flew around for a few minutes and then engaged FSD to mosey on out.
Then it happened.. out of no where 5 ships on my radar, all shooting at me, the comms screen alive with pirate text saying 'they can't believe that worked' and after a minute I am blown to bits losing about 70k worth of bounties and insurance needed to be paid. Then it hit me that they were sat there in silent running mode just waiting for an idiot like me to pass through. IT WAS AWESOME. Yes I got destroyed and lost bounties but the immersion this game throws at you when and how punishing it can be is nothing short of fantastic.
10/10 would enter that strong signal source again.
