This has almost certainly been said before, but it's only just occurred to me. [ELDER SCROLLS]

It's only just hit me.

The Elder Scrolls... Not the franchise, but the entity in the game's universe.

The Scrolls have a different reading for each individual, and a future shown is just one of many, a past one of many.

Would you be in agreement that the entity of the Scrolls is, in fact, a representation of the many ways the story of each game plays out, as each different player takes a unique path in class, quests and achievements?

Are the Scrolls in fact the player?

Heh, interesting way to view things.

To a certain extent that is true about most games, RPGs in particular. The player can be viewed as a "narrator" of the main character's story.

And as in Tamriel, all history, the past and the future is written in the Elder Scrolls, the player can, indeed be considered an Elder Scroll. :D

Yep'.

I find it quite amusing.

It's as if Bethesda made the player a legitimate character, and it makes all happenings canon.

I guess it can be...

...but then again The Elder Scrolls themselves are so absurdly powerful that you can basically make up anything. It's to the point where they even could be used to reboot the franchise — ie. one of scrolls erased or changed history.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I love the ES, but let's be honest - the lore is a nightmare. :D

...and not even of the good 'Moon' variety... ;)

Which I think is great. :)
