This is coming to Xbox, right?

Honestly I prefer gaming on Xbox right now because I need to keep my life simple.

This always baffled me. I can't imagine playing managers and strategies without a mouse and a keyboard full of shortcuts.
How does one go about it with a controller?

Pretty easily, TBH.

Then, I've been using gamepads since I was three years old.

I think JWE will also be an enhanced title for the Xbox One X so that’s a pretty big bonus if you have that already.

If the game has a control scheme setup for the PC than yeah that would be great. Of course this is a multiplatform game and 2 of those platforms are consoles so we will probably get some kind of dumbed down console control scheme forced onto the PC player. I hope not, but that's what happened with JPOG.

Hah. I even played it. It's just so long ago that the abbreviation didn't ring the bell...

Heh, nice! I just played it last month to try and quell some of my hype for JWE. Unfortunately...I have come to a point where I just. Can’t. Play. It. Anymore. It is just way tooo repetitive. Nothing new, nothing different, and even if you add mods that adds new dinosaurs (kinda), it still feels all the same for me. I really hope JWE doesn’t feel too redundant with multiple playthroughs.

It happens with lots of "old classics"
One of the worst things you can do to yourself is to play a game you remember fondly from 20 years ago.

Happened to me recently with Elite, actually. :D

If I had an OG Xbox or an Xbox 360 I’d totally play JPOG for a little while to sate the need for dinosaurs.

As much as JPOG was pretty repetitive, there’s still something pretty cool about watching a Trex be the apex predator of your Site B. I could still play Site B for hours and hours. I can’t imagine what things will be like with JWE...

It's also what hasn't happened in any game ever

The game is created using Frontier's In house engine Cobra

And is ported to the required platforms as in the case of ED.

As we all know the game has a huge amount of inputs so I wouldn't worry too much.

I just remembered all the fun I had with Supreme Commander 1 and 2 back on the 360.

The controls, base building, resource management and scale of the battles Supcom had is still the best I’ve ever seen in an RTS on a console.

It’s really sad that the RTS genre has pretty much died (on console at least) with the only noticeable one being Halo Wars but the first one has a “UNSC or bust” problem unless you’re really good and the second has a “give us more moneys for leaders and unique units” issue. Then the battles aren’t really that long and boil down to spam 1-2 units and try to steamroll your opponent.

Sorry for the tangent, I just really hate that all the other “strategy games” are city/colony simulators that either play terribly and crash several times per hour or have half thought out gameplay that falls flat after an hour or two.

FD, I’d love it if you could hit this one out of the park, maybe far enough to build a coaster or two? ;)
