Update 2.4 should drop any time now. It didn't happen today (Thursday) so it may happen next week some time.

Hurricane Irma is coming this weekend for a visit. I live in Fort Lauderdale. Last time, Wilma knocked power out where I live for only two weeks. HOWEVER, phones were out (I'm on DSL) for over 1.5 months. Cable (for those of us getting our interweb from cable) was out for a full month. I won't even be able to see youtube of the first attacks (no internet at my workplace). :mad::mad::mad:[down]

May I just say I wish you all well. I'll survive. My thoughts and prayers will be with the upcoming victims of a 2.4 release that, I'm told, will have a great many bugs in it.

Good luck in the storm, but you have a few weeks yet for 2.4
Ed said they'd make an announcement in 2 weeks time on a stream.
And reading a thread earlier today it seems Mr Samarco thinks the beta is still up.

Yup, a post-beta release is worse than a Cat 5 hurricane. :(

Used to be stationed at Homestead. Andrew wiped my old squadron's buildings out.

The stream will take place Thursday of next week.

Ha ha, yes, as I found out, this they're going to "hold on" to this thing for a bit yet instead of releasing it NOW. I guess someone wants to make a strategic announcement before we all end up becoming bug food. I still think they should just release the patch but leave the bugs turned off for a while, let everyone fall into a false sense of complacency before the big BOO!!!

None-the-less, I'm expecting power to still be out by the time this IS released and I expect communications (phone / DSL / cable) to be out for much longer (I'm on DSL). I'm way inland, for those familiar with the area of Fort Lauderdale, near the junction of I-595, I-75, and the Sawgrass Expressway. I'm expecting flooding but not that worried as much as old tree branches falling on my car (as happened after Wilma - knocked out the back window - unable to repair for 5 weeks until they had a replacement).

We're all hoping the center goes just east of Florida so we don't get the "dirty" side of the storm. Still won't be good for anyone, especially in the Bahamas. Just hit the Virgin Islands and we're still waiting for reports on how bad that was.

I'd figure 2.4 won't arrive until during or after the stream with Sandro, next week.

Yeah, especially as there'll be delays and it'll drop the day you go back...

Yeah but once he calls in then there'll be a showstopper bug... Maybe not til mid afternoon though, and it'll get delayed while they find the duct tape.

You think you've got problems, I'm on my way back from 5000 LYs out, heading to Maia to meet the Professor.

2.4 will probably drop, and I'll run into a load of Thargoids. Now that's a real worry....

Yes but isn't there an additional task to complete for the Professor once the 5 KLy from start requirement is met? If it's anything like my quest for Modular Terminals, it's going to take weeks...

25 Unknown Fragments which is not that bad really. The way I did it was to drop into a certain USS type in systems a certain distance from Merope and accidentally collide with the Unknown Artifacts to break them up. Google the specific details if no-one who remembers them chimes in.
