This is realy very very very bad.....might be even a game quiter...

Hours and hours and hours I spend designing this "house" around the water ride and now...since this afternoon it hasn't been saved...
It s gone....gone forever. Even not in auto save.

Earlies this week I made a thread about this saving and loading problem and now I can recover it. Or I have to go a few days back but than I have to rebuild my other entrance again and I lost my drive to do so.

I'm very very sad atm about this behaviour of the game and like I mentioned in the title, this might be a game quiter.

If I can't rely on the saves of this game why bother?

https://tinyurl.com/hpky39c See screenies under Loading issues.

PS I looked furhter but there is atm no wya to recover it anymore.......Unless some wizard out there as an idea

But I saved myself.

I just remembered I made a blueprint of that building and now I have loaded it and put on the empy spot....all fine again, jippy!!

I saved it, logged out, in and loaded it....oef...its still there.

Still, I dont like to have feeling not beeing sure if all is saved correctly. Where is the saved fol;der anyways so I can maken a backup of that just in case this happens again?

When you go to save it highlights the file that was loaded automatically for me, ive never had a park not save. You could even make a new save each time if you put a number on the end, sandbox1, sandbox2 etc

I made 2 differnets saves......in bothj its gone......and as I wrote before....also in autosave file....

Sorry to hear about your problem.

Have you checked that the auto saves are not hidden?

At the main menu, go to 'Play' (not Resume)
Then click on 'My Parks'
Right at the top there's a box that says 'Hide Auto Saves', uncheck that.

This may not be the problem or you may have already tried this, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

do you have the cloud saves enabled in steam for planet coaster?

are you always online when playing?

Right click planet coaster in steam list > properties

select the 'Updates' tab

See if stream cloud is checked 'enable steam cloud synchronization for planet coaster'

I used to have every level completed in RCT1 + expansions and most of RCT2 and I had some cool parks (though I was much younger) then I lost all my saves and was very very very sad and never really got back into those games because of it

Then many years later, the same thing happened with RCT3... lol [sour] I had even backed up all my RCT3 saves onto a separate hard drive but ended up forgetting about them and eventually the computer crashed, I think I could possibly still go recover my RCT3 saves but I'm not sure how or if it would be worth the effort. It really does put a damper on my drive to play the series again, but I'm sure in time I will get more into PC, I am still waiting for more add-ons like RCT3 had.

It really does suck losing your work, but I lost dozens of huge parks and at least one or two that I would deem pretty darn amazing, not just a section or a few buildings lol... in this day and age there are numerous ways to back up saves: USB, MicroSD, External HDD, uploading to the "cloud" or other online services. Theres really no reason to be complaining about this when there is an auto save feature, every computer program in the world has this problem if you dont remember to save your files and back them up thats your loss.

When you red my thread correctly you could have red that my auto save also was missing the building.
And yes I'm complaining about it and its not for you to tell me if I do so or not. All settings are correct and still this happens and thats sucks, period.

I wish I could make a (extra) backup of my saves myself, would me lovely.

It's checked and only 63MB of 93GB is saved so I also aint a space problem.

Hi Asjemenou,

Sorry to read that you lost your saved park, but happy to read that you saved a blueprint of your building, so that progress for at least that building has not been lost.

You can create a manual back-up of saved Planet Coaster parks by creating a back-up of the Planet Coaster folder in the Windows default Saved games folder. That folder should be located in your user folder, typically C:\Users\%userprofile%\Saved games where %userprofile% stands for your username in Windows. The folder Saved games can be named differently depending on your language (example: in Dutch it is called Opgeslagen spellen).

Create a back-up of the Planet Coaster folder in the Saved games folder. You can always restore this back-up if you want to restore all of your parks to a previous point in time. Additionally, you can also create back-ups of individual parks. Look for the unique park names in the Planet Coaster folder. They are located in a folder named with a large number.

if you need help I think theres a thread around here on how to do so

It is OK to ask help in any thread, it does not necessarily have to be in a specific thread about a specific issue at hand, as long as it isn't going off-topic.
If Asjemenou wants help with back-ups of saved parks, then he/she can use this thread as he/she made the OP.

I wasnt saying the thread should be closed, just that if the OP wants to find the info on how to back up saves, its out there just gotta search for it (though maybe a better tutorial could help?), but there sure seems to be a lot of complaining instead of simply asking for help

It is allowed to ask questions again in case users have trouble using the search function on the forums.

Asjemenou, if you have any other questions about backing up your saved parks, then feel free to ask. [happy]
