3.0 Beta 2, seems that stellar forge had a brain fart over Wyrd, I was minding my own business when suddenly....

Floating rocks !

Odd I think, but you know, Beta and all that.

Will report, probably someone already did.

But the further I go, the worse the situation becomes, to the point where I literally dive under the ground and manage to see the planet from the INSIDE !

These video glitches had me driving my SRV below the surface at one of the Wyrd system planets.

Couldn't record due to software glitch.

It was in Beta.

I think this happens because the game only generates a slice of terrain at a time and the more ground a CMDR covers the more "out of sync" the terrain render becomes. Relogging solves it, I think because you "start again at zero" but again, over time the terrain render begins to disagree with the terrain model. o7

PS.
For me, I've experienced that it is more likely to occur when I have any Antialiasing method enabled.

Yep, I've had this a few times too. For me, it seems to happen if I've been driving around a planet surface for a long time, though it's only happened a couple of times, so that could also be completely irrelevant. :)

if you start on a planet, you'll notice some of the 'steps' in generation.

One of these is finish terrain, THEN align small rocks, and it looks like that patch of ground you are on there has not finished generating properly? thus it never got to the align rock part?

OH MY GOSH!!! Now I have to worry about quicksand. I already don't like surface prospecting for elements and such. Now this.

I'm old. Those pics reminds me of the old Tarzan and Jungle Jim movies. GL HF
