Funny how the media decides the mass shooting at this church was only worthy of page 14.

Church Shooting.

I suppose all the news about multi millionaires "brave" stand by taking a knee instead of standing for the national anthem showed MUCH greater courage than one man confronting an armed shooter. Sarcasm mode off.....

Amazing how the news is more about ratings than, Oh. I don't know, NEWS maybe?

Reported in the UK too.

As for sections of the U.S. media deciding it is less important than Trump's current twitter-twattlings, it is hardly a revelation that they give most coverage to whatever their readership considers significant.

The point is, why is the news focusing more on raising eyebrows that raising awareness?

And as to being significant: What they deem significant and what I feel is significant is becoming an ever widening gap. Not long ago, their was a segment on Morning Joe (MSNBC) involving several of the hosts railing about how terrible it is that President Trump is telling America what they should think. Mika Brzezinski said that is not his job and then said "That's our job".

WHAT?!?!?! I had to play it back to make sure I heard it correctly.

I agreed with the statement that the President should not tell it's citizens what to think. But then to have the arrogance that they (the news reporters) have that job?

Um, no. To explain it further: HELL NO! The job of the media is to report information. I will decide what to think.

And that is why I am stuck getting my information from multiple "news" outlets.

There are no more Walter Cronkite types anymore. And that is disturbing.

Because your president made the NFL protests international news.

He finds it difficult to condemn neo-Nzi white supremacist marchers who ram a car into people, but unequivocally rants and condemns people kneeling in protest during a national anthem. That is what got airtime, not the actual protest.

Your missing the point.

Just because you (or anyone for that matter) agrees with the choice of what (and how) information is spewed out will (IMO) eventually be subjected to hearing (and accepting) propaganda as news.

I could just as easily point out a story from the right that you could rant on about being "one sided" or just plain wrong in light of ALL the facts and facets of the story.

If we start accepting what the news media spews out as the only thing we should be concerned with now, the day will come when we actually do start becoming sheep that just think what we are told to think?

I don't just listen and accept what I think sounds about right. I look for as many views as I can find and then decide what I think.

"Mika Brzezinski" and morning sickness Joe are NOT the news, just like most political hacks spreading their agenda :D There are no news anymore, the investigating reporter is already dead.

Dude, maybe you just read the wrongs news sources. I knew about that days ago and I'm in Australia.

Yeah, but your toilets also fluss the wrong way :D

I am in complete agreement with you on that. That show is no more news than Shawn Hannity, Chris Matthews, Bill O'Reilly, Rachel Maddow or (insert talking head of choice here) any other opinion show.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing mandates having to watch them to find how the news is elaborated on. It's tedious as well as painful.

News isn't something you agree or disagree with. If you find yourself able to do either then you're watching/reading an opinion piece, not news.

Then you turn away from crap like Breitbart and turn to actual reliable news that reports actual information. The Economist, Business Insider, FT, The Atlantic, New Yorker, NYRB, LRB, The Guardian, etc.

I still don't get why Frontier is so happy to have national socialist skum spamming their forums with bull like this.
Seriously, Frontier, you've been taken up by a major media company with an in to a big franchise and you insist on letting this bull in on your company servers and share it as your opinion.

I think you havent quite grasped what an online forum is. Calling people 'national socialist skum' is also not a great way to go about it, fwiw.

May be it has something to with the fact that their been 273 mass shootings in 275 days this year alone or basically one a day.

I have no intentions getting along with skum like that, so, not a problem for me.
This is not a public forum. This is a forum run by a game developer. National socialist bull belongs on dung sites like 4chan.
