I wouldn't say that. Deranged Discussions have not lost their potential to be as dumb and divided as ever for the most part, more so than usual recently what with the LEP freakout, the "Would you pay for [insert random word here]" threads and the return of the dumpster fire that is "Grind is in your mind because I say so".

The PvP subforum has actually become my retreat away from the eternal facepalm that is DD for the time being. Discussions here are on the whole more civil and productive, even the overtly prickly topics. It's quite refreshing really.

I mean, surely the galaxy and even the bubble is big enough for groups to RP however they want? It may be disruptive and may disproportionately impact new players, but there is some creativity there and I'm not really in a position to determine how anyone else should play the game.

speaking of which, for the record, im done trying to "hunt" these gankers in newbie system. thats what they want anyway, a good fight. for another while too i played the "Paladin Hug" game. it annoys them for a bit, but they kept coming back. so whats the point?


so yeah. i made the thread coz i feel sorry for new people, and concern that newbies started off on the wrong foot with this game.

PS: ive been granted mobius access a long time, and its a nice place to be. but its not a solution. its a workaround.

The problem with it is it is the old pad-teleport-camping for yucks, killing newbs and respawns to pilfer their equipment. Tearing the wings off flies.

Well you'll have something like that with many, if not most MMOs. Maybe I'm a bit more hardened about it than many, because I came from a game where you really couldn't hide from pvp. I spent 3 out of 5 years on that game, getting face planted daily. I got used to it, so it just doesn't bother me as much as some. As far as newbs, noobs and NOOBS are concerned, they have the same choices that we all have. And, as I stated earlier in that which you purposely omitted, a new player with ANY previous pvp experience at all, will get a clue the first time. Now, don't misunderstand me on this. I'm not one of "those" that's "goin' clubbin' babayyy" for the sake of doing it. Rather, I'd be one of "those" that's going to help run down a known habitual combat logger, and like it. I'll try to help new players as opposed to antagonize them, simply because it's in the best interest of the game. Plus, it's a good way to make friends and have fun. Fun factor is what it's about. But that's just me.
