This makes no sense (imho)

Ok, so I take this assassination mission (one of those again) and I have to kill a target for 120,000cr. I go to the system, and find that the target is a python with an escort of one viper and one vulture. I have been able to get the objective several other times (last night I could) but tonight it seemed like an impossible task for my asp, so I´m going to bed now, mission not accomplished.

What doesn´t make sense to me is that when I arrived to the station that gave me the mission, I checked the BB and saw one of those missions that reward more than 200,000cr. for killing 5 or 6 pirates. You can do that pretty easily, killing 6 pirates flying eagles, one by one. Piece of cake.

Why does it pays double than facing a wing of three, formed by python (bristling with laser turrets), a viper and a vulture is beyond my comprehension, but I can tell you that I won´t take one of these missions again until I´m riding a FDL at least. Really, it doesn´t pay.

The funny thing is that most of them are advertised for novice ranking pilots, or even lower

my expiriences so far:
missions are rewarded by different aspects, not just by the difficulty but also by the relation with the minorfaction thats required for taking it.

example:
difficulty: depends on number of targets, ship class and pilotsfederation rank
relation: missions that require a status of "neutral" are paid less than missions that require "allied" status

Yeah, the mission system needs work. I stopped doing them all together when i still played daily. The only missions you need are charity and one way delivery missions in the faction of your choice. From what others have discovered (i think its the post about how the ranking system works, with dev and support feedback), you have to do a couple hundred missions that scales the higher your rank.

Talk about repititon. This thread is worth a read to you, and what made me stop doing anything other than one way deliveries and charity.

Found it: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=165258

Theres a reason why people have constantly posted about the mission system. Its boring repetitive and absolutely a massive time sink. I feel sorry for everyone who didnt get to collect rank progression at a reasonable pace in 1.2

A personal note. I wanted the clipper... or the cutter... or whichever was the smaller one. And it took me a month to get to 5/10 imperial rank, with up to 6 hours a day. This grind and the 'reward' i got after was what ultimately made me stop playing the game until i was allowed access to the stress test. I started with nothing on Imp side, and have 7/10 on Fed side thanks to ignorance and 1.2's naval rank progression.

Good luck. Hopefully this thread will enlighten you before you waste weeks trying to figure it out for yourself.
