Unlikely I can't land: game crashes due drop from FSD and I have to start in vanilla to reenter orbit...
Can someone confirm this behaviour?

Frontier might have never heard of culling techniques... this is why planets, stations and whole settlements just vanishes from your sight depending on your position.

So, yeah... hold on to your knickers!
