Newcomer / Intro This Stranger 'Tip Off' is crap!

So I gotten many of these 'tip offs' where they tell you to fly to Dogpoo A 3 b Long 55 Lat 66 but of the 2 I tried so far, it brings me 300+ LY away to some crappy crashed ship where it is trespass territory and for risking the bounty and skimmers, I get 1 cargo rack with some Rarity 4 raw mat and some illegal grain or battle weapon canisters lying around.

Are they all such crappy rewards?

Also curious, since it is a shared universe, I assume other players flying to Dogpoo A 3 b would also see the same crash site? If so, does it disappear after the fixed X days tip-off expiry?

Depends on how you define "reward". If you mean monetary compensation for your time, then yes, they're all crappy.

Yes.

No, the crash site is a POI, independent on the tip-off. Just like a certain restaurant exists independently on whether your friends told you about it or not. :)

That depends. If you measure rewards exclusively in credits/commodities/rare mats - then in 99.9% of cases they are not worth it. Credit rewards were slightly better at the very beginning but were nerfed 2-3 times.
The distance to travel in fact is reduced with each subsequent mission received. If you get some dozens of them in a short period of time then it will be less. However if you receive them in the Coalsack or WHN then the targets will be always somewhere in the Bubble.

That also depends. If target is a "crashed ship site" (or "unidentified wreckage") then yes, they will dissapear (but not forever). However it will be not logical if a target like planetary settlement will be able to vanish in two weeks...

Little correction:
I don't know who was the first to use the term "semi-persistent" describing tip off-related crash sites.
Yes, they are POI's and as that, they are permanent. And they are in fact completely independent from tip off missions.
However Tip Off crash site belong to the relatively rare in-game mechanics that are timetable driven (along with travelling megaships and barnacles). So one can find a crash sites on the given coordinates only during 2 weeks out of 12-weeks long cycle. And there is nothing for the remaining 10 weeks (if the universe "clock" is still functional, and that's not always the case).

That may be, I guess. I've never checked a crash site after THAT long.
I probably should have formulated it a bit different - A tip-off doesn't create a crash site. It just randomly chooses one ( of those that are currently "active", if it works how you described) and tells you its coordinates. :)

Thanks for the clarifications. Well, I dont mind if the effort-reward ratio was less than most other stuff but it is rather disappointing to fly 300 LY for a couple canisters of grain and 3 units of vanadium and.. and.. nothing, not even some text to wrap it up. I fully understand this game isn't Wing Commander with FMV cutscenes but was hoping for more story to it. Give me some choice to make like sell some data/stuff for credits on the black market or return it to the owner etc.
