This thing is hot and huge...

I just upgraded from an Asp to a T7. Holy....it's a bus and it tries to fry itself with every jump. The toaster is terrifying with an npc hogging the middle. I have to assume T9 pilots just run down the middle and shove.

Well i sort of miss it after i upgrade from the clipper.
The T 7 handles like you expect it. Great thrusters on it, so i can actually stop myself from slamming the landing pad, and it dose not drift like the clipper dose at low speed.

So is this...

Sadly it doesn't fly very well. (Hey.. YOU chose the thread title! :D )

Give yourself a few moments extra to cool down, heat isn't really an issue unless you never bother to wait.

The T7 was the most hated couple of days flying I have had to endure in Elite. The cockpit is OK (nice view), but that's about it. It was a means to a Python, and did that well, but I ditched it the second I could. flying it is soul destroying, and I can't imagine what a T9 would be like. Though, I guess ramming everything out of the way when docking could produce moments of mild bemusement in such a ship, I just don't want more money that much that I could ever do a T-series again.

Thos eof you that *choose* to fly a T-series long term... You'r emade of tougher stuff than I, let me tell you, hats off!

Yep I noticed that right away. I tend to boost a lot in that thing because it's super slow and I'm impatient, before I know it I'm at 150% heat! (oops) First thing I did when i docked was get the best power plant.

A semi-upgraded t-7 in an oculus rift was a joy to fly. The clipper was a downgrade in terms of experience. Its a better ship all around but the view from a t-7 was fantastic.

The only issue with the 7 is the heat, and thats only a problem if you are cheap or don't have the patience to wait until you hit 70% heat to jump.

I had mine upgraded to AAA in thrusters/power/distributor and it flew very nice.

I was just using it as a grind ship for my Python, so, to be fair, it was full of cargo racks with 0 other upgrades. Docking was kinda fun, in the way that docking a 170ft luxury yacht would be fun. The view did make this a bit of a joy, but having come from a well upgraded Asp, it was quit epainful to fly...

I use track IR on a 55" TV, so whilst not quite OR immersive, it's pretty nice to look around and get immersed.

On another note, I do get bored with one single style of ply very quickly, so that fact that T-series ships are only good at a single thing means I get bored super quick. I like my all-arounders, as it means I can trade rares, explore, and pew pew as I go. Money making is slower, sure, but it is enjoyable! Loading up on 200T of rares right now in my Python, and then taking it to Pnd to see if a regular Rares drop there helps them boom...

I just got my T7 today and it's not bad, a good blue collar ship. I immediately upgraded its thrusters, power plant, and distributer and it runs much cooler than the T6 ever did.

cooler than the T6? cooler than the ship that sits at around 30% heat, even with all the modules on? im guessing its so your beer doesnt get warm on those long flights

I went from an Asp to a T7 as a way to grind up to a Python. I finally made it to a Python today, but the jump range was not that great, and the running costs are insane. I also didn't like the view from the Python. I went back to my fully A rated T7, though I lost almost 10 million in the process... even parting out the Python in outfitting as much as possible. That was kind of shocking, especially coming from the unexplained destruction glitch which blew up my T7 with 216 Superconductors on board as soon as I entered the station. Ironically, after buying back the T7 in insurance, I was back at the station I had just left with all my cargo. Only lost 1.2 million in insurance to the glitch. At that point, I thought that was enough ED for one night. 11 million is a bit much to take. I will say that an A rated, or well equipped T7 is not bad at all. It handles pretty well and I really don't have any problems with overheating anymore. I prefer the view from the Asp, but the T7 is similar enough that I don't mind the downgrade in the view that much.

Just got my T7 yesterday and it flies like I expected. Tossed on 2A power, A rated power distributor and D4 shield with the rest in cargo.
Heard much complaints of the T7, don't see why really. Stock it's a PITA with heat but soon as u have an A rated power module u're okay.
