This War At Quivira - A Query...

So according to GalNet...

Commanders willing to fight to defend Quivira from the Imperial invasion should sign up for active duty aboard Godel Dock.

Commanders wishing to profit from the subjugation of Quivira by Imperial forces should sign up for active duty aboard Stapledon Dock.

Now thing is, suppose you're in a Clipper, and suppose you're wanting to sign up for the Empire.

How are Clipper owners supposed to dock at Stapledon Dock - which is an outpost - in order to do this, short of parking at Godel and using a Sidey as a taxi to go over to Stapledon?

:)

It just seems kind of silly that potential Empire-supporting commanders sporting the quintessential Empire ship, are unable to support the Empire. ;)

get a sidey or something else able to dock on outposts, problem solved.

Don't you think that it is pretty silly? I'm pretty sure that's the problem, not being unable to sign up, since the OP mentions your ''solution''.

I don't get why there aren't docking collars on the outposts. Why would the outposts want to miss out on trading possibilities by excluding large ships?
Also, why can't the station contacts and bulletin board be accessed when in the vicinity of the station but not docked?

yes, every time you want to sell the combat bonds, travel 28000ls to Godel dock to take your sidey, travel another 28000ls to the outpost to sell the data ( sidey in quivira -- free target), then another 28000 ls back to godel to take the Clipper and 28000 more to go back to the CZ. That is not a solution.

Edit : poor Engrish

I agree - there is a reason that half of the people have signed-up for the Empire than before the issue. Before you could sign-up for either, at either station. Now you can't and the results show it. Before the restart it was a pretty even battle, but now the PoQ are over double the bonds (due to double the people running it). Yes they could do the Sidey thing, but people are lazy and don't want to. You see what they are doing - all fighting for the PoQ. People are lazy, you can't forget that ;)

you gave the answer to your question.

That's the whole point of my post! :)

I'm pointing out that it's silly to have to do that. Why? Because you either park your Clipper (or Anaconda even) at Godel Dock - which is the very dock brim full of anti-Empire commanders! Or you park at another system and jump in, fly to Stapledon, cash in your bounties, jump back out, collect your Clipper or whatever, jump back into Quivira and carry on from there.

I'm pointing out that commanders who are owners of large-pad-only ships can't easily choose to fight for the Empire in the Quivira system. Which is silly :)

I wondered why there was no progress on the Empire side of this goal. Now I know. Guess it's time to either switch sides or just bail out altogether since I'll loose all rewards anyway.

it is silly, but it is exactly what i had to do in order to participate in this CG. well I could jump some 150 ly to get my vulture but thought getting a sidey would be a bit quicker.

It is an oversight, I imagine, and it'll be the reason that CG has fewer players. Plain and simple.
