Thor Search and Rescue Coordination - Stockpiling Bio-Storage Pods for Thursday the 11th.

Titan Indra has officially lost all control systems!

However, Indra will not actually become vulnerable until this Thursday, after the weekly tick. Taking place on an American holiday, we can expect Indra to fall in record time, meaning next week we'll have another ~5 days before human forces are able to redeploy towards Titan Thor. In total, we'll have around 11 days of prep time before Thor gains the benefits of being the weakest Titan.

Bio-Storage Pods

Thargoid Bio-Storage Pods can be rescued from the Titans, releasing captured humans from beneath its surface. They seem to give a spread effect to ALL counterstrike systems around a Titan, as the released captives return to the front lines to fight. Each biopod is worth about 1/28th of a cyclops kill towards EVERY counterstrike, so if there are 28 or more counterstrikes, you're looking at each biopod being worth in excess of an entire cyclops kill. And, of course, while a skilled pilot might kill 20 cyclopses an hour, a skilled biopod rescuer can rescue 200 pods per hour.

And things get even better. We believe biopods also get a chain reaction ripple effect if there are counterstrikes on Spire Sites, further multiplying their strength. Suffice to say, it's really, really productive - but be warned, it's by no means easy. It takes patience, focus, and skill to pull off successfully. It is by far the most challenging search and rescue activity in the game.

They do pay reasonably well. Each biopod is worth about 150k, and you can collect up to 200 per hour, which means you'll be making ~30m per hour. Not record-breaking by any means, but it pays the bills.

The Plan

Now, here's the important part; since the counterstrikes won't kick in until AFTER Indra dies, AND after the weekly tick following that, we shouldn't turn in any pods harvested from Thor until after the tick on Thursday the 11th. But, if we can stockpile a good amount before then, we can seriously accelerate the war effort on Thor, by rapidly eliminating the outer shell of Thor's control systems!

So, here's the plan; everyone who wants to participate, rescue as many bio-pods as possible from TITAN THOR over the next 11 days. I myself have set a personal goal of 2000 pods, and I will attempt to exceed that number. Then, once the tick happens on the 11th, we turn them all in at once! We get a massive surge of returning soldiers, and unleash a devastating first week against Titan Thor. With a little luck, we may even stress the Titan enough to trigger whatever little tricks it may have in store, as indicated by the latest galnet.

Any and all assistance is appreciated! You'll be saving lives, AND helping to win the war.

One single objection... "returning soldiers"?

My headcanon was that the titans require human captives as a resource for their war effort, and denying them that resource translates in reduced combat effectiveness in the system they control / defend. Most of the captured humans would be civilians anyway.

Hah, it's just my headcanon, to explain why they've helped mostly on counterstrike systems.

Heck, it very well may be for both reasons!

Some of them might be captured AX fighters, but it's likely most of those captives aren't. Although some, if they are allowed, may sign up to fight the Thargoids after their recovery.

My own explanation's always been that the Thargoids "lose" ships in affected controls/systems by dedicating more of them to continuing to capture humans, or the distraction caused around the Titan(s) by the human ships which are recovering the captives. It's definitely not a very clear-cut thing unlike even sampling, where you could at least handwave some of it away by assuming it provides information on the Thargoid ships active within a system and thus makes fighting them easier.
