Those "Oh no" moments

Then you're spending the next 2 hours jumping star to star, hoping against hope that you don't come out into a contact binary you didn't know about, or fly too close while scooping......

Not having clean vision of the docking entrance from a platform right beneath it, then flooring it only to see a type 9 taking up the whole damn entrance. I'm just glad the cobra is so thin it can just squeeze by most ships with minor bumps to shields.

Been there, done that! At least your canopy hasn't been breached as mine was when this happened recently. 10 minutes oxygen left and approximately 10 minutes to the nearest station. I didn't quite make it and after my ship exploded there would have been lots of rare goods floating around space for a while. Hope you have better luck than me! :)

I'm now only 445 LY from my Achenar home

Hoping to get there with the remaining 33% of my hull intact, and my canopy remaining cracked, not shattered.

hehe, I've done that too. What made this special was being over 50 jumps and 600 light years from the nearest service centre.

Align with escape vector. But there is none to be found! And I'm keep turning my ship around to escape. Oh noes!

P.S.
Happens a lot in combat when you have target locked and trying to jump away.

my funniest 'oh no' moment has to be accidentally slipping off the thrust button onto the fire button while launching from the pad in a station and getting killed in about a second and a half for breaching the no fire zone rules, its lucky i only had a load full of tea, if i had 212 tonnes of palladium instead it would have wiped out my cash reserves :eek:

Ouch, worse than when I piloted my Asp full of gold into the spike at the base of the space station.

Had several. Accidentally pushing the boost button on my stick when exiting the station... My landing gear button is next to it... Entering station full speed and having a La9 exiting through the same letter box... Flying a La6 myself. Undocking the Asp full of goodies.. Phone rings... Returning after 4.55 mins and noticing the Station owners are not amused that I am still blocking the dock so they decide to give my Asp a blast- literally...

The first time it happened to me I was on my first trip with the First Great Expedition. It was my first time trying a fuel scoop and after over-heating several times I was down to 23% hull. Trying to avoid further damage on my return trip had me on the edge of my seat. :)

my best "oh no" moment happened like this i got in a fight canopy got destroyed (a big :eek: moment for me as this was the 1st time it had happened) only had 5 mins to get the kill and back to station. I managed to get the kill and get back to station with 27 seconds left on the clock:D i am just aproaching my docking pad when i accidently hit the fire button suddenly booooom as the station blows me to bits lol

Pressing the wrong button on my joystick and sending my unshielded sidewinder into the inside wall of the station at full boost speed. Didn't end well and gear button now moved away from the boost button.

Back when I first started playing ED: Accidentally hitting the boost when trying to request docking in-front of the station. Quickly trying to alter your angle to fit through the letterbox and take a fine or away from the station altogether in the vain hopes you don't smash into it.

Exiting station : Gear up - check , Speed good - check , In the slot - check..... $400 credit fine for attacking station . WTH?????? BOOOT to get out... look right ... kitten with paw down on mouse firing away... look back - DEAD...
:) my own fault wasn't paying enough attention to the kitten.....

Pressing the 0% throttle button during hyperspace will make you imediatly slow to 30km/s in supercruise upon exiting hyperspace and you will never be put too close to a star. Could be a lifesaver especially if you're not paying all that much attention.

Yay, safely docked within known space - now for the true grind. Selling 22 play hours worth of exploration data
