Those scary exit hyperspace moments

Here is a screenshot of a system I just jumped into - the direction of the jump meant i got a pretty close up look at the group before being deposited roughly in the middle.

Can tell you... it was brown trousers time

On the way back from Sag A* and thought it was going to be a burnt up fiery game over

Any similar close calls :D

Congrats on surviving to take that nice pic :) May the rest of your return trip be skid mark free ;)

Had a close call today as well, tend to tab out while in witch space, and tab back in when I hear the exit sound. Tabbed back in as I was passing through a secondary star, fuel scoop came on and all... no damage, but I haven't been tabbing out in hyperspace since :p

that was my issue Raz - tab out, i tabbed back in roughly 1-2 seconds before the exit and was kinda like... WAAAAAAA! as the scoop also activated for a moment half way through the exit lol

The only other weird moments out there are jumping into black hole systems... jumping onto nothing, is kinda... weird

Better than coffee, isn't it? ;)

Black holes and neutron stars, always freaks me out a bit :)

When you jump into hyperspace hit 0% throttle and you will never worry again. When you exit you will be almost stationary with lots of time to decide what to do.

Can't speak for Eros, but I find it quite a lot faster not to throttle down when doing quick jumps. I simply veer off a bit on entry into the system and go straight for the scoop while I honk.

Besides, not much you can do about thlse scary, skid marked moments when you pass straight through a star ;)

yep - if i am travelling long distance and dont want to stop to scan, i will exit hyperspace, scoop, hit the advance scanner, and hyperspace out. Bish bash bosh

Exited straight through a star and ended up straight in the middle of the two, got out with 2% damage to the hull. Wasn't so lucky with the same situation but this time a neutron star, lost 24% of the hull....

Had one of those this weekend, came out of hyperspace and passed directly through a secondary star. Just about jumped out of my skin. Didn't take any damage, my ship runs pretty cool so I didn't even get warm.

Ouch!

I made it back ok Sunday night, the trip to SagA*, a brief stop at a neutron field, and snagged about 25million :D not so bad and enjoyed the whole experience. Now, I think I need to decide if to invest all my money and ships and buy a space pig :D to fund an Anaconda

That was on the way back from Sag A*, made it back with no further mishaps with 73% hull and 0% hull integrity, made nearly 40m after 1.5m repair costs and went from Ranger to Pioneer.

I had this pair of T Tauri's scare the crap out of me today...thank god I didn't go THROUGH either one, but it was still a skidmark moment when I saw what was in front of me when I was coming in.

Second neutron star incident tonight, jumped in and instantly pulled from supercruise, apparently the computer felt that a companion star close by was reason enough to jump in 0.13ls from the neutron, luckily I am running with most of my modules disabled and was able to escape without even having to use a heatsink taking just 2% damage from the initial sc drop.
