Being all new to the game (and loving it) I thought I would pose some questions to the community, and some random thoughts. (apologies in advance if i repeat something brought up a lot)
Do you meta?
With the prevalence of online forums (like this one), video guides and online databases (like EDDB) giving you all the information on how to play ""optimally"" at the tips of our fingers how much do you use those resources? Do you keep it to a minimum, just asking/looking up when stuck? Do you go all in and plan your entire path before doing anything so your running the best trade loops, grinding reputation quickly or just bypassing certain ships due to being "trash". Do you sit somewhere in the middle?
Me personally I try to minimize my meta input, I know about Robigo runs (posts about it everywhere) but I don't run them because I've never had an interaction in game that points me that way. It may seem silly to some passing up on easy fast money but I enjoy bimbling about stumbling across new things (I was very excited when I found a rare commodity).
Currently I'm trading in my T6 (or as I call it "the brick") with the goal of getting either an AspE or DBE and fit it as a combat trader rank up with my PP faction then go exploring.
Gripes/Things I'd like to see:
Weapon loadout variety, it seems 90% of the vids I see people are using PL & MC with the odd PA. Missile/torpedoes not a whisper (which invalidates ECM and PD being in the game) everything else shows up now and again but in comparison to PL & MC most other weapons may as well not exist.
Ship variety, while I know ships will steadily be added I hope that they add more non faction locked ships e.g. the only big ship alternatives to the Anaconda are the Corvette & Clipper both locked behind high reputation requirements, also if they do add more faction locked ships please be based around PP factions so each faction has 2-3 unique ships.
Livery, include decals for your PP faction so you can proudly display your loyalty.
