Thoughts on Exhibit Meta-Wishlist 2024?

Inspired by @SuzieSky's thread, and also because I wanna upgrade the last exhibit meta-wishlist, what are y'all's thoughts? Theoretically, we have 3 more DLC, right?

So, what should I include? @TheDuckKnight suggested to allow birds, since in theory it's possible.
If that's the case, there'll be huge demand for birds, possibly almost entirely. So, here's what I'm thinking, but y'all.give.me suggestions:

Because of the likelihood that we have very few DLC left, I will allow 10 votes per person for any exhibit animal, including insects, arachnids, bats, sloths, reptiles, amphibians.
I will also allow 5, and only 5, extra slots for BIRDS ONLY. So, a total of 15 slots, 5 are only for birds, the rest can be whatever. What do y'all think?

I feel like 10 4x4 and 15 WE animals (or 5 4x4 and 10 aviary birds if it must be capped at 15) would be better, but I've been wanting to re-do my exhibit list either way. I really wish I'd thought more about it before posting the first time.

I like the idea of limiting birds if we are to allow birds onto the exhibit wishlists. I just know some of us will abuse that new rule by filling entire wishlists full of birds that could in theory be added to the walkthrough exhibit, at that stage it just becomes another aviary wishlist. The 10 + 5 limit also forces people to only submit what are the actual 5 desired birds rather than just listing as many as possible.

I dont really agree on the split. If a persons top 15 exhibit animals are all birds they should be allowed to voice that.
Its kinda like having to include 10 ungulates on your 25 animals wishlist even tho you might not even want a single one.
On the other hand i can totally see the problem that birds will dominate this list otherwise.
Its a weird situation

This is a dilemma, because I wanna be fair, but I also can't allow people to spam birds over and over again.

Ok, here's what I suggest, and y'all tell me: what if you submit 2 wishlists.
One is for standard exhibits and WEs (sloths, butterflies, bats)
The other is for WE birds ONLY. No birds that can be in habitats, i.e. pheasants, ducks, secretary birds, etc. If it's a species that will typically fly to get around, like sparrows and macaws, then it's WE, but if it primarily walks or swims, then it's habitat

Sounds good to me! I will participate.

I can have 2 separate wishlists to showcase this, but I can also have 1 that combined the 2, to see what's in more demand.

Also, for the amount of animals, how much should the limit be for each list? 10? 15?

Yeah i agree. 20-25 for birds. 15-20 for regular exhibits. I guess for WTE should include other animals possible in such system not just birds (bats, lorises, flying squirrels or gliding animals, maybe tamarins (still on the fence on that one), moths and butterflies)

I would say 10-15 regular exhibit animals and 20-25 aviary birds if that sounds reasonable to you.

Sure, sounds good. And yes, I will include lorises and gliding animals, etc.
Birds? I've never seen anyone mention wanting birds.

Sorry, :ROFLMAO: I couldn't resist.
You're awesome, Heather🤣

Great lists...doesn't really follow the parameters for the lists though. Or the fact this isn't asking for wishlists just yet just if and how to organize it. But I really like the lists nonetheless.

I'm very skeptical about exhibit species. In the core of my being (for dramatic flair) I would still love for exhibit birds to be a thing. But I do not believe they'll come any longer. Does that mean that people shouldn't ask for them or put them on wishlists? I'm not sure.

If not, that leaves us with bats, butterflies, Sloths and standard exhibit animals.

I'm completely fine with other smaller mammals being in the WTE, but it really felt like the issue with the sloths was the speed of motion and animations. Does this mean that small mammals could have other limits (namely size) to put them in the WTE rather than habitat? Sure, but it doesn't necessarily mean they will do so. If it does mean that smaller mammals can be included, I've defintiely got some ideas (Tamarins mainly lol)

As cool as the bats and butterflies are the best part of them being included was the perception and general assumption this would lead to exhibit birds, given the animation for flight now exists, albeit looped. But that hasn't lead to exhibit birds, and at this point I do not think they will. Maybe that was the plan, if so, it sort of feels by this point that something happened along the way to nix that idea. So what other flying non-bird animals could be added? Flying enabled insects I suppose, but I'm doubting that will be the case.

Standard exhibits may seem a bit duller now, but they're easier to plan for. And since we got a standard exhibit animal in the Arid pack, they're obviously still in play.

My thoughts on this is, we don't need a redo for the Exhibit Meta-Wishlist yet, since not many Species were added from it unlike Random Goat's Habitat Wishlist, which in their case was pretty high and messed up priorities. Also despite the few species that were added, we always allowed Revotes and Additional +5 and +5 Votes periodically, so ours is still pretty up to date with the Real Demand.

As for Birds, if Frontier gives the slightest hint of Aviary Birds in Walkthrough Exhibits, we can allow a Limited Selection of Similar Groups by increasing our Voting Limit by 5, 10 or higher depending on hinted Groups. For instance, if Frontier only adds a Songbird in a Pack, then we can increase the limit by 5 and only allow Passerines and similar small species. If Frontier adds Macaws as WE, we can allow all previously mentioned Groups but also Species Groups similar to Macaws in size and function by increasing the limit by 10, but perhaps exclude Raptors, etc. But if Frontier adds several new Exhibit Types like larger WE's that aren't actually Walkthrough, we can technically allow all Aviary Birds and increase the limit by 15 or more, instead of 5 or 10. That's my take.

A 3rd, Midway Solution could be waiting for Aviary Birds and redoing it when that happens.
