Ships Thoughts on my Anaconda build

Hello guys, I'd like some feedback on my current Anaconda build (exploration focused).

Some notes:
  • I tried going for as much jump range as possible while still having essentials in my ship, Supercruise assist and Docking computer are there simply because of user preference, I don't always use them but sometimes I want to alt-tab so I just switch on Supercruise assist. They weigh nothing so they are not holding me back anyways.
  • Cargo rack is there in case I need to synthetize limpets and just in case I find something that I really want to carry with me home.
  • Tried going with the smallest possible Power Plant, overcharged 2D is not possible due to power problems so I went with the next best one 2A.
  • I had to engineer my 4D Thrusters with lvl 1 Reinforced instead of lvl 1 Clean drives due to exceeding Max Hull Mass with Clean drives, shouldn't matter much since I only need it for Drive Distributors experimental.
  • Shields are there just for that little bit of safety.

I'd like to have my shields engineered to lvl 5, but coriolis shows me that would exceed my Max Hull Mass and I would have 0 zero shields, though I'm a bit confused since I saw some other people with lvl 5 engineered 3D shields just fine, anyone can help me with that? Any other recommendations are welcome!

That ship is a long range experimental jumper to show off range, but nothing to fly on an expedition. The first high-g planet will blow you up, as well as any ganker If playing in open.

Something like this
Would be absolutely gank proof, offers more options and a better flight profile and loses 10ly, less If you skip on some things like HRP.

Regarding your question: enhanced Low power lowers the maximum hull mass allowed, so you can't use the maximum grade. With these shields you might as well skip them completely though.

If your task is to stay above 80ly jump range, your build does the job.
It will be ok for traveling fast.

If you have fun with it while scooping, turning in sc, landing on planets etc is a different question, and you should do a test run over 2,3 kylies.

With something like this https://s.orbis.zone/8lsI
you sacrifice just 2,3 ly jump range, but you will at least notice a difference in normal cruise and when you boost ;)
The shields wouldn't help against a human player, but should at least hold against a npc interdiction.
And the power plant doesn't run on fumes and much colder...

Use a bigger A-rated Power Plant.
That OC 2A has bad efficiency

Also i think you stretched too far to achieve that range. Way too far.
Unless you want to go on the very fringes where the stars are really far from eachother (why would you anyway - now there are carriers for that) - you are sacrificing too much for too little

I would go for THIS.
You still have 74ly, but better PP, better Repair limpets, better shields (they could be even better tho), a spare SRV, a fighter hangar for fun in asteroid fields and canyons or to safely examine some of the dangerous Stellar Phenomenon out there

Thank you everyone for your advice, I really appreciate it :)

I've ended up going with this for now:https://s.orbis.zone/8lK3

It's definitely not my final build, I'm still experimenting with it a bit, though I can say the shields are definitely stronger and it's noticeable, the thrusters also feel much better. I'm considering going for even better thrusters (I have stored 6A fully engineered) and bigger PP, depending on how good this build feels. I'm also considering going for stronger shields + some shield boosters for high-G worlds, for now I feel this is enough. I'm also still working on engineering my Life Support.

Thank you again.

Much better.

An SLF can be a fun distraction out in the void. Esp when you are flying a slugging Conda for most of the time.

As the power plant can only be repaired at a station go for armoured G5 + double braced to maximise integrity, it will lose you a little jump range but it'll be worth it.

Greetings!

Here is my Anaconda build:

1725 MJ of shields.

Personally, I have never used fighter hangars or repair limpets. I carry only 1 heatsink because I carry enough materials to synthesize them over 20 times.

This is the build that served me well in 2 months of exploring Tenebrae and am currently using for another extended exploration trip.
