Thoughts on Poll that was on social media today?

Any one have any thoughts on the poll that Frontier put out today?

Those two choices were pretty high level and general...what do you think they are going for with the results...future growth/expansions?

I really struggled on which to choose with an underlying concern that the results of this (even how limited they may end up being) may determine, or at least feed, the future direction of this game.

The poll asked:

What is most important to you when building your parks?
- Interesting Scenery
- Rides and Roller Coasters

Where exactly did you find this poll?

IMO both options have the same priority! A good park should have an extensive selection of rides, as well as an interesting scenery with lots of special themed areas. ;)

Agreed! And in my opinion PC is lacking in the ride department.

Chems/spoonetti - look on the Planet Coaster Facebook page (not sure if it's on Twitter).

I voted earlier as I'm more rides based lately.

I'm with Chems, I don't use Facebook, and I think it's discriminatory for corporations to require Facebook to communicate with them. I think Frontier should be ashamed. They could do better. Also, scenery & coasters are equal. QoL & mgmt too.

I'm a bit bummed out as well, they easily could ask the same Question here on the Forums. I use Twitter yes, but i am not glued to it, so announcements like this go right by me. Also i left Facebook for a reason and i don't see me going back.

From the reactions here i gather that quite some people didn't even know that Things like this go on on social Media with no mention here. So again my appeal: Please include us Forum People as well :)

I said scenery because of course I did.

I didn't know about this either until I saw this thread and I am on Facebook. FB is really weird about what they show you and I had no idea about this at all. They really should post about it here. Well, unless it's just trying to drive engagement with the brand and the results won't affect anything. In that case, who cares.

Just wanted to shed some light on this: social media polls are in no way polls that we use for data or to ask a question about development. It is simply another way to engage with people who follow the channels and to bring some diversity in posts rather than just showing the same Workshop items over and over. We've always found that polls are a fun way for people to interact with the content. Please don't read anything else into this; our official news will always be posted on the forums first.

As for the water parks remark: as previously stated, water parks are not coming to Planet Coaster.

Hope this clarifies,

Game mechanics, scenarios, management, etc = 0% ...?? not even given as a choice in a poll..

In addition to what Bo has said, Facebook only allows us to do two options with polls currently. So whilst we'd love to do polls which list multiple options when doing a fun engagement post, we only have a limited selection.

LOL

yeah, you are discriminated. Join the lines with other peeps who feel the same but are not.

Frankly Bo, it doesn´t sound very good to me the way you explained. You basically just said it means nothing. If you do something like this, it should at least have a meaning, you should use the data and improve the game. The game could use some improvements on some fronts for sureand I think a change in a DLC update direction wouldn´t harm at all. However, this sounds like it´s just pure PR and I don´t think it´s allright. It´s calcul from your side, probably you want to make people feel like you care about the opinion, but you just said, you don´t? It just supports the feeling all this is just PR machinery and nothing else.
I don´t say you don´t care about our opinion at all, but it´s clear that you don´t care as much as you tend to say all that time....

It's a social media engagement tool. We would word them differently if they were polls we used to support development, and promote them differently as well. Like in the past with the community favourites rides poll, we would conduct that on the forums instead.

It allows people to express their opinion. If a poll's results are interesting, then of course we would escalate that to dev. However as I said, in this case it was simply a nice way to have people interact with the pages, as many other companies do. I wanted to make that clear because in the thread it was being said that we are not prioritising the forum for users who don't have social media accounts :). Again, it's a nice way to interact with social media users, but we take your feedback on board and will be more mindful of posting polls in the future.

In my opinion, polls/surveys are completely overrated anyway ;) And as I've already mentioned, both options (scenery and rides) are important equally.

So, we better get back to the real facts now: When do we see the next DLC/update? ;)
