Thoughts On The Aquatic Pack

Now that we've seen every animal, I can formulate a list of animals I'm most excited for. Here is the top 5:

1. Terrapin
2. Otter
3. Seal
4. Caiman
5. Penguin

The reasoning for the terrapin being number one is the fact that it is a totally different exhibit animal. From the screenshot they shared with us last week, these guys should actually swim around and move around in their exhibit. And in addition, the model looks absolutely amazing, as all the exhibit animals from the DLCs do. This is our first turtle and first aquatic tank animal so its exciting to me.

The Grey Seal would have been number one but just one concern remains for me. I hope that they spend enough time in the water and less time walking around on land. I hope it's not a koala scenario where they look akward in places they normally arent most of the time. The caiman looks stunning and so does the penguin, but the penguin was used so much I'm kinda over it (but I know I'll love them once I play around with them). With all of that being said, all of the models look amazing, with one exeption: the otter. The otter model looks the worst out of the five but still looks amazing and I'm most excited about the energy they will bring to my zoo.

I feel like with all of this DLC excitement, I tend to find myself forgetting about the massive update coming on Tuesday as well! Hopefully the animal talks will work with the seal and penguin because in real zoos you always see "seal feedings" and "penguin feedings". I hope the keepers are able to talk and throw food into the exhibit just like a real zoo! That would be awsome. The other features in the update are important as well, such as new rocks, paths, a new font (I'm very excited about that), and the much needed franchise mode multi-select in the trade center!

Overall, I'm so excited to purchase this DLC and jump back into Planet Zoo (after taking a month off) at full force on Tuesday!!!

For me it would be:
1. Grey Seal (Hoping they stay in the water a ton!)
2. Penguin
3. Otter
4. Caiman
5. Terrapin

I really like all the picks and the potential they bring to the game! All animals except Caiman open the door for more new similar species. I'm happy to have Caiman as well because now all we need is the American Alligator to fully represent all crocodilian groups!

I am happy with all the animals in this pack, they all look amazing, even the terrapin is something new, so this time I am excited even for the exhibit animal.
My favourite has to be the otter though, hope they will be as playful as in real life. As for the seal/koala, my koalas actually spend ALOT time in trees, so I had no issues with them, it is still a game and has its limitations, but it is convincing enough. I am pretty sure I will have no problem with the seals either.

The building pieces looks absolutely stunning, really loving the theme of this pack, because all the pieces looks very versatile. Combined with the animals talks that we are getting in the free update, this is for sure the best pack so far for me. Looking forward the patch notes to see what else was added/fixed.

I really have a hard time deciding. I think:

1. Seal
2. Penguin
3. Otter
4. Caiman
5. Terrapin

The exhibit animal is just never the most exciting for me. My list is based on how much I was wishing to have those animals, but honestly all habitat animals look really good and my guess is that I'm going to like them all. And I haven't even paid much attention to the building pieces. I'm also really looking forward to use the animal talks!

It would be off topic here, but have you shared a picture of your koala enclosure anywhere? Because mine spend a lot of time on the ground indeed, even though they have a ton of climbing options. But I agree with you - I don't think the devs would spend so much time and effort to develop deep diving and then not have the new animals spend their time in the water.

I havent but it might have something to do with the roamable space you give them. I tend to do the smallest space possible just as in real life so they do not roam on ground that much and are mostly on the climbing structures/trees. I also tend to put the enrichment and water on the climbing structures so they have to climb if they want to use it.

Thank you, that might be the thing. I almost always happen to build bigger than intended and might just need to take away the ground ;D

I’m so excited for this pack. I can’t wait to get my hands on all of the new animals included and start playing with them. My order of the five would be:
1. Otter
2. Seal
3. Penguin
4. Caiman
5. Terrapin
Otters are just one of my favorite IRL animals and I love the oddness of the giant one. But I’m extremely excited for every animal coming with the pack.

I'm very excited for the pack, even if not over the moon for any of the exact species besides the Penguin.

I do really love all of them!

Penguins were one of my 3 biggest surprises that were not in the base game (with Polar Bears and Moose), so I am most excited about them. Bonus points for being completely different from anything we have at the moment. And their diving animations look fantastic. My favorite of the pack.

Seals are an amazing addition, too. Again, they are completely different and their presence opens up a lot of potential for future animal DLCs.
And so does (to my surprise) the Terrapin! It excited me a lot that we are getting a new exhibit type with more water and I am curious what else we will be getting for those.

Otters and Caimans are cool, too. Among crocodile types, especially the Caiman they chose is a great choice. It looks so interesting with its red-ish head, and I am all for having more smaller animals in the game. While I would have preferred a different otter species, I am still very happy with this one and can't wait to add it to my South America section.

I kind of fell in love with the gators and gharials so to see the caimans added was the most exciting for me. Something great about a hab full of big scaley log lizards making all sorts of scary subvocalizations. Ahhhhh I do so love it.
