For 5 months now, the Marlinists have been under attack from hostile dictatorships who want to exterminate Marlinism and claim our colonies for themselves.
We have successfully repelled the invaders from our capital of Concordia and have pushed them out of several surrounding systems, but they persist in their terrorism.
So, as I dock my combat ship at Fairfax Legacy station (a station I personally helped build) in the colony of Haven, I cannot help but think on what this station’s namesake’s legacy will be.
Jenna Fairfax was a community leader who guided our people through the Marlinist Refugee Crisis. She then served as the inaugural First Minister of the Marlinist Government until she was one of the over 35,000 Marlinist citizens killed in NMLA attacks on stations in Concordia and New Chana.
Fairfax’s vision was for our people to have an independent republican society where we could live free from the dictatorial oppression which our people had to endure for 1,000 years. She always spoke of how one day she could see the Marlinist way of life blossoming into a true Republic that would stand alongside the other Superpowers.
Her legacy will depend on us.
Even though this path of relocation and independence was not sought by us, many people have now sacrificed time, resources, and even their lives to afford us this opportunity.
It is up to us to make sure this opportunity is not wasted.
That is why we will NEVER surrender our colonies.
Once a person has tasted freedom, they cannot go back to subjugation.
Our people gave up the Republic of Achenar and it has taken 1,000 years to receive another chance at fulfilling Marlin Duval’s vision.
Personally, alongside my Dark Wolf Marlinist squadmates, I have delivered tens of thousands of tons of materials to both rebuild Stillman Hub and Tilman Point after the NMLA attacks and to build Fairfax Legacy and Ackwada Monument. I spent hundreds of hours fighting the NMLA to root them out of our society. We then spent 2 years building up the Marlinist Republic and successfully petitioned Universal Cartographics to give the 8 original Marlinist Colonies unique Marlinist inspired names. As a result of all our efforts we were recognized by First Minister Volkov as an “Authorised Militia” of the Marlinists.
These are not accomplishments someone just throws in the trash when want-to-be strongmen arrive on your doorstep.
We will continue our efforts to ensure that the legacy of Fairfax, Marlin, and the Dark Wolf Marlinists is one of never abandoning your ideals or people even when faced with overwhelming odds and even if it takes 1,000 years.
