Thread of tricks

I guess most of us know all about those tricks already. Still i would like to share them once more because i don't think we already have a place where we can share all this little things we find.

I won't take credit for discovering these tricks, so all credits for that go to the original finder, im just listing them. Last but not least, please add to this thread if you have more little tips or tricks that might be helpfull or fun to others.

Round path's

Lot's of us wanted to build plaza's and we have a great tool for that in the game. Sometimes you might want open area's in the middle with nice round edges. Here is how to do it :
Start of by making the rough shape of your path:

Then in the corner start another piece of path :

Ofcourse this looks pretty ugly right now, so delete it and it will look like this :

If you do it on all 4 corners it will end up like this: A very nice round shape :

Silvarret made a detailed tutorial about this as well :

Chessure chest

Did you ever wonder why the golden chessure chest was so expensive? The answer is simple, it attracts a lot of guests!
Guest generation is linked to the park rating. And park rating depends on a few factors but mainly on rides and scenery.

Ofcourse normal scenery will raise the scenery rating but you need a lot of scenery to see the ratings raise. This is where the super expensive (magical!) chessure chests comes into play. Ading a single one of those will add considerble points to the scenery rating and with that attract guests.

This little thing can make the difference between just a normal crowded park or turn your park into one of those awesome sunny summer holliday theme park days where all the queue lines are packed with guests :D

(Look at the guests numbers raising from 78 to 172 with just a single ride in the park)

Translation file

What does a translation file do? Easy, it translates into different languages!
However it can also be used to rename existing stuff in the park! It's purely cosmetical but personally i still think it's fun to use and worth pointing out.
In my example, i hate cheese and don't want it in my park. I do love garlic however ;)

Toturial on how to use the translation file can be found here :
https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/8951-Hello!-Bonjour!-Hallo!-¡Hola!-Oi!

Does anyone has any more tricks to add to this list? Doesn't have to be big things ofcourse!

This renaming things ingame with the translation files need to be build into a program/app.
(or just let us change it ingame).

Very cool to see,

Yes, i still hope we get the RCT3 way back where we can rename it all and even add/delete menu items.

This is a great idea but I doubt many people would post their tricks, since very often they involve using some kind of bug and we don't want Frontier to fix those. [haha]

Of all the type of paths, you had to pick the ugliest one [cry]

Minor trick and may be considered a bug.
When a ride breaks down guests could take forever to get of the queue path. Simply delete one section and they'll all spawn at the exit.

This is one everyone should know, but let's assume there are people not aware.
When placing rides/coasters/buildings you can press "X" ( before placing ) and you will get the rotation tools, instead of messing around with "Z" or "Shift"

Lol that was my immediate thought when I saw the thread title...
The Peeps have started to walk through the pirate planter barrel :(
And that's a classic example. Such an awesome workaround (walk around?). Why why why would they "fix" it.
However, epic thread idea vampiro, thanks, I'll have a think about some tricks that don't involve exploiting "bugs".

Sorry :D

I like to think positive. If it's a bug, they will find it anyway sooner or later and probably remove it. While if we tell them we like a certain "bug" they might consider to NOT remove it or even turn into a feature / improve it.

Yes, thats why i didn't list the pirate planter :(
When i opened this thread i needed screenshot's and it was right then when i noticed the parate planter "trick" no longer works. And i agree, it didn't need to be "fixed" as this item served a great purpose.
Hopefully Frontier will undo this fix, or better yet, come up with a new piece specifically designed to serve as a "roadblock".

I think i'll add to this list when i come home from work. Also, instead of a "Roadblock" How about the Return of the "No Entry" function of Signs? I loved the ability to designate Paths as "one way only".

Like i promised, one of my Tricks i discovered. But i am sure others have stumbled over it as well.

Lets say you want to center something on a scenery item like this:

boDrFYP.jpg

To do that easily and perfect center, do this: select the advanced movement tool:

BaWmWm7.jpg

then just select the Scenery item you want to have centered on it:

Voila :D When you tug on the arrows you now can move the item where ever you please :D

Yes!! I use this all the time :D
Very nice one for people who weren't aware you can switch selected items while staying in advanced movement!

Hi Vampiro
Try the "Chessure Chest " trick : doesn't work very much ..........[sad]

What exactly didn't work?

Try to do this :

1. Make a park with a sigle ride and take a look at how many guests it attracts.
2. Add like 10 GOLDEN Chessure chests (don't use the normal one, only the golden one that costs 10.000) and see how many extra gusts will arrive.

If it still doesn't work, let me please see a screenshot of what you did :)

theres items on the workshop that will put ride scenery to 100% for a lot cheaper than the gold chest, assuming your not playing sandbox

The "Chessure chest trick" isn't about getting 100% ride scenery. It's purely about raising the scenery rating in general to generate more guests. Ofcourse adding buildings will raise the scenery rating as well evetually, but the chests go WAY faster :)
