Thread on fighters performances?

Is there any? (Adventages/Disadventages in "x vs x" format, comparisons on Acceleration, Final Speed, Maneuvrability, Hull toughness, Shields, etc).

Also, are there any written (I like videos, but sometimes prefer a placid reading) thread on useful tactics for specific models of fighters? Something like, for example, "zoom away and come back head on making use of better speed/acceleration plus shields", which is something I think I would do if I had a Cobra, etc.

I dont think performances will change a lot from beta to final, so, having a document like that would be the most enlightening for newcomers like me, trying to go deeper in the sim.

I'm afraid it's not that easy. Ship weapon loadout has a major effect on how you fight, and relative strengths against a particular opponent are more important than the absolute strengths of the ship.

For instance, in an Eagle, I'm more maneuverable than a Sidewinder *or* a Cobra, but you have to tackle them differently, because the Sidewinder, while still less maneuverable than the Eagle, is maneuverable *enough* to prevent you from doing things to it that you'd do to the Cobra.

But what if that Cobra has 4x gimballed multicannons, and so is able to run around with 4 pips in engines, whereas the sidewinder has fixed pulse lasers, is constantly energy hungry, and is flying around with 4 pips in weapons? Suddenly now their sustained maneuverability is very different, and so is their effective front fire arc.

The matrix is just too big to address every possible combination.
 
I really like the fact that there is no clear "best setup" and that your results depend on everything from piloting to having the most powerful gear.
