Thrillville: Off The Rails Announced

Probably a great game for consoles, but it's no RCT4, and it's definatley not going to keep the RCT people happy. I'm surprised they bothered porting it to PC considering the tiny market for these simpler games.

The game looks like it has so many great improvements, which will just make people ask why they can't be put into a proper RCT sequel.

Well they claimed from the start it was never supposed to replace RCT3, even though TPB3D eventually will and in a very big "FREE" way. But I think there is a place for many 3DRCG's and 3DTPG's both. The market is quite broad and their aim seems to be more for the park visitor than the park management. They never said it was aimed at the existing RCT3 marketplace either, but rather TV was for a new market segment and player. Whether this will become a failed business strategy or quite a successful one remains to be seen. It may well be a very big hit! Time and users will make the difference. Also things like interactive rides such as the bumper cars might be quite nice to try.

Wow  I guess everyone has their personal preferences, but this is in its guise a rather unique new application and thus, should be afforded the chance for the entire community to judge it by the PC version. The consoles are rather limited of course.

Bear in mind too that a PC version of ThrillVille could also carry many more features than more limited editions for consoles only, so the expansion potential I would imagine could over time, overtake what RCT3 had ever become. But again only time and actions on this emerging new platform will tell.

The PC version is the same game game as the console versions. And I think it would be wrong to think of the console versions as limited, there's not many PSP games that have crowds of 500+, all making independent decision making.

As mentioned before this is very different from RCT3, it's more about the experience of being in the park, rather than focusing on the park building itself.
