Throw us a bone Frontier.

Maybe one day Frontier will learn the definition of "Beta-Test-Phase" and release a major update only AFTER all bugs have been squashed, instead of following a schedule.

Sorry, I couldn't resist... :D

when you got a week to release an update that they dramatically changed only due to the fact that the rewards wasn't directed towards the community as a whole, I can't blame FDev as much as I blame the community, which the fault is mostly on the communities anyways.

Oh I'm glad Sgt Doom, but I wish they'd do it at a different time just once or twice !! I'd also like to play you know.

Going to bed now, sick of waiting, that's another night closer to death with no Elite - I'm 43 you know, I'll be dead soon! And I STILL won't have that damn Baron rank so I can buy a Clipper! ;)

If you read the E3 interviews with DB you would know that only a small team from ED worked on CQC. .... Most of the team would be MS (Microsoft) supplied

Eh?

The Cobra engine is multiplatform. Only 1 team is working on the game, and that is FD. There is work around the edges to support platforms, but most of that is in the wrapping, not the game itself. CQC has been written as a feature for the game as a whole, written using Cobra, and existing game assets, plus some new ones.

Are you saying that developers them selves don't have multiple teams? it doesn't take 200+ people which FDEV currently has under employment to work on one single console. It's a small side mode, so I think it was infact designed by a team of 5-10 people.

And the bus full of Microsoft folks you implied?

Yes, of course FD development is broken down into teams. Some of those will be more or less permanent, others will form and stay around for a while and then disband. Normal development stuff. Yes, the quote you responded to was nonsense, but your reply hardly helped.

It's a lot easier to just not care. It's a trade show.

So, now we have Elite: First Person Shooter. I'm shocked that the console/combat players have been so shamefully neglected, for so long. :)

After the huge vacuum of empty space left (in a bad way) due to exactly no less than nothing at all was mentioned, in regards to the PC version of Elite: Dangerous; it'd be nice to have our disappointment allayed a little with just a bit of concrete news as to some future plans.

Even something like a bit of artwork for a future ship; maybe that we can get the new ships as soon as Xbox - but not CQC itself - that will be introduced with that timed exclusive.

Throw us a few scraps, to us poor emaciated beggars sitting under your table.

I'm absolutely dying for some information. The /only/ reason I'm not happy (though it might change today, I live in hope) is because from the hints and whatever we thought that we'd get some hard information from E3 and most of us old timers hoped that information would specifically be the unveiling of the first paid expansion (walking around ships, planetary landings, whatever it is). I think Frontier underestimated that that's what people were hoping for and thought we'd be happy with the unveiling of CQC. (I am happy, it's just not the information I was looking for).

So whilst I've been a bit emotional this week, it's entirely down to expectations that weren't fulfilled. What I don't want is a bone.

What I want is some real information when Frontier are ready to give it. Preferably not on the day of release. (Steam, XBox).

I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Power Play is fine. Just ignore it, don't sign up to FD's "Hunger Games" and maybe it will go away. ;-)
Then FD can concentrate development on planetary landings and first person stuff instead.

Station and ship exploration will be first, because a first-person mechanism for leaving your ships would be required to get out at any planet you visit.

There were no 1st person in frontier and first encounters which had planet landing. So I don't see why one DLC needs to be released before another one. They are independent.

...and later this week our Executive Producer Michael Brookes will be here to talk about how the work we’ve put into Elite: Dangerous for Xbox One will feed back into PC and Mac, and make the game even better on every platform

Am I right in thinking that the only other information we know we're going to get this week is the above? (which I assume will take the form of a blog post on the community site...how dull)

The main reason for the rage on the forum is that frontier hyped up power play and released a god awful bug ridden mess even after the beta testers said it wasn't ready for release.

If they had postponed the release or released it on time without it breaking major game mechanics I don't think we would have been as mad about E3, we'd be too busy playing th egame.

Cqc xbox exclusive was just the icing on a cake made of sawdust.

It was me actually

DB emphasised that the team working on CQC was small to nullify fears that XBone was now FDEV's number 1 project. The majority of FDev are employed on PC/Mac development. It would be sensible to have the majority of the CQC team to be MS... XBone ....after all... is their baby... cobra or no cobra

station walking? use the debug camera. What difference does it make, the stations don´t have rooms or people ,why would anyone walk around there

Suggest you look at some of the ship interior concept art plus check out some of the older diaries. They have mentioned boarding parties, etc. I think it would be really cool to have an alliance crew defending the interior of a ship from an Imperial boarding party lead by Senator Patreus (all dressed in black).

I may be getting my sci-fi franchises confused
