Newcomer / Intro Thrusters off and cant move

I have been attacked by a smuggler and my thrusters are off.
So I am stuck in the middle of nowhere and cant move my ship at all.

What can i do?

Make sure you've got pips in your engines, too. Use your arrow keys to move them around. Down resets to default.

Engines still work with no pips to ENG and a drained reservoir. Sounds to me like his engines have been disabled, only way out is to reboot the system. After that, make sure they are back online then head for the nearest repair facility

Just for the record (in case it is more than an individual glitch) same thing just happened to me but inside a station...
