Thrusters on the Annie. Annie tips?

you can go down to a5 thrusters, and up to a7.
how big is the difference in handling?
is, e.g., a 6d better than an a5? a6 to a5?

putting some teeth on my trading annie, but can't really decide what thrusters to put on.
in the low class modules, i don't seem to see a difference.
would an a6, let alone a7 even be worth that enormous price tag?
is there something like a comparison of this?

Thrusters make a huge difference on the conda. It really depends on if you can handle the ice skating with the lower class ones for trading. When I'm trading in mine I downgrade to the D7, otherwise A7 all the way.

Only real comparison I can find is on ED shipyard, where it gives a figure for the optimum and max mass for each thruster. With a C7 on a 436t 'Conda, if I am boosting away from a station and then pull a 180 to orient with my jump target, the forward momentum can drop as low as 30 or 40, before the thrusters overcome the inertia and start to push back in the opposing direction. I would expect smaller thrusters would be significantly worse in that test and beefier ones to be better.

well, i tested the A5 against the D7, this time even i saw the difference. lol.
a few millions in the future i'm going to test the difference between D7 and A6.
theoretically the A6 has to perform better...

one happy punkerich conforms that the A6 is definately performing way better than the D7. don't listen to your local outfitter (will reduce module performance).
he is lying.
:)

Maybe this thread can give you some answers, specifically:

Thrusters have a hidden Minimum Mass (equal to 50% of Optimum Mass) below which no benefits are gained in terms of speed or turn rate by reducing mass.
Higher rated (and presumably class) Power Distributors don't affect your ship's speed or turn rate directly, only indirectly through mass and by allowing for more boosts in the same time.
