Thrustmaster 16000m huge dead zone!

So, I bough the 16000m cause I've read that many people is happy with it. I hoped to plug it in, configure a little bit and have a nice experience but....things are getting frustrating!
I have two issues with the joystick lever.

1) No matter which direction I move the joystick, the first 1cm of movement is DEAD. No response from the game. Then it recognizes the lever and push it to maximum sensitivity.
About the dead zone, I don't know how to fix it and I hope someone here could help me.
About the sensitivity, I am using the Analogic Flight Mode but there is no way to set the sensitivity of the axis. Again ask for help if possible.

2) I have set the Pitch Axis to "Reverse", that means that I want it to go down when I push forward and go up when I pull toward my body. Well, now what happens is that it goes down only if I push the lever forward to the maximum (let's say 100% in a scale from 0 to 100), but if I push the lever forward to appoximately 60%, then the ship GOES UP!!! I repeat to be clear: pushing the lever FORWARD from 0 to 60 the ship goes up, but from 61 to 100 it goes down. The same happens while pushing the lever in all directions.
If I push the lever LEFT, from 0 to 60% it goes RIGHT, then it starts going left correctly.
If I push RIGHT, from 0 to 60% it goes LEFT, then it starts going right correctly.

PS: I checked the Setting on Windows7, and the lever responds perfectly to sensibility (no dead zones), and the axis are set FORWARD=UP and BACKWARD=DOWN.

Hope to find a solution from your answers.
Thank you guys!

Hi Caabal,

I am not familiar with the 16000m but I do have the Warthog. In mine the deadzone, axis curves etc are set in the TARGET software not in ED. By default generally there is no deadzone set though so not sure what might be the issue on yours sorry. Might be worth checking if you havent already and test it out outside of the game.

You've set the stick in game as digital device.

Remove
- roll left
- roll right
- pitch up
- pitch down
- yaw left
-yaw right

and apply
- roll axis
- pitch axis
- yaw axis

Then you can adjust the axis deadzone, if you experience drift (= movement when not touching the stick)

Old pic, but still valid:

If there's no deadzone present outside of the game then it's probably not related crappy magnets in the base of your stick, like you find in most current madcatz era Saitek flightsticks.

I'd imagine it's some third party software interacting with the game, or a default state on the thrustmaster. Maybe check their website for updated device drivers and a control suite to force your desired settings.
Unfortunate the control options in Elite has always been severely lacking compared to what you'd find in most games, so you won't have much like trying to fix or lessen the issue in there. Hell even a free to play game like War Thunder, and the prealpha Star Citizen are worlds ahead of Elite's control customisation offering.

What Zieman said. :) The 16000m should need no deadzone normally, thats part of what makes the stick so much fun.

I've owned several T16000M's with no issue nor do I think it has a dead zone. You may have a bad stick or...
One thing I learned the hard way was that the T16000M "centers" during computer boot up. If your stick is not level when you start your CP iit will be off and drifty during gameplay.

You must be joking...Control settings in ED are pretty extensive. As it was mentioned above - it's a user error, nothing wrong with the stick or menus.

I think our baron here refers to thinks like response curves and such. :) The SC comparison is a bit odd, half the time it cant even combine input from two seperate sticks properly, but war thunder has some nifty stuff. Everything can be done between the drivers and the app though, but its a bit clumsy.

SOLVED. It was an issue with Windows7 probably, because I downloaded the drivers, then I also installed the TARGET sofware and everything is smooth and fine now.
Thank you guys very much for your help. [smile]

Good to hear!
Don't have the TARGET software installed myself.
Wonder if I am missing anything but at this point it's kinda "If it ain't broke don't fix it."
