Thrustmaster HOTAS issues

I just upgraded from the Thrustmaster T16000M FCS Flight Pack
Flightstick-Throttle & Pedals to replacing the Flight Stick with the
Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Flight Stick. Ass an added note, I do have all three
connected to USB as opposed to the Pedals connected to the Throttle, although
I don't see that as the issue.
The main problem is now Elite doesn't seem to recognize the Stick.
Am I correct in assuming that I will now have to utilize the TARGET Software?
If this is so, is there someone out there that had the same issue and could
supply me with the Target Profile they are using?
This would be a great start for me and I could then customize it to my liking.

I also have HCS Voicepacks, and I'm sure that creates another can of worms,
however I just want to get the HOTAS to work properly first then work on the voicepacks.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated !

Hey @W0LV3R1N3,

Running the TARGET Software & scripts is optional. The game should still see the separate devices in the bindings list in the game. When you do run a script then the device will change to a virtual device (combining the Throttle & Joystick into a single device). This will show different binding options in ED as it will see it as a different device.

Do you see all devices when you open joy.cpl (Game Controller panel in Windows)? For me, I need to have both the Throttle and Joystick in the first two postitions.

If you have other game controllers/devices plugged into USB, I would also try unplugging everything you can, restart and retest. It may be that they have 'taken' the top slots.

Also to note, if a device is missing when ED starts, then your controller profile will disappear from ED binding options (such as if you forget to turn on a wireless XBox controller). This has been a bug in ED since 3.1 or so.

If you want to try a script out, I have one on offer in my sig :)

Enjoy!!

Thanks although not sure the script would work for me without more editing as I
have ONLY the Warthog Flight Stick with the T16000 Throttle & Pedals, Not
the Warthog Throttle. I hooked up the Pedals to the Throttle and did like you suggested.
The Throttle/Pedals and the Flight Stick now show up as the 1st 2.. Going to try that
and see if it works any better.
Thanks !

No worries mate,

Sorry I didn't pick up that you only had the Joystick (didn't even know you could buy it separately!).

In that case, it may be that there are no default profiles for that combination in ED. Should still be able to see a 'custom' profile option though that you could modify.

My script does support the pedals, but you may be right with the throttle (as I think that has a fair few less buttons IIRC).

Good Luck!

I will be receiving the Throttle on Friday !
I'll probably need to use the default settings for
the Warthog that VoiceAttack/HCS Voicepacks generates
so that the bindings are correct for it.
That's fine with me, I can edit the bindings afterwards
to my linking.
For those of you that do the VR deal, it's a must to have
voiceattack/HCS..
Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help.
