New to the new game. I played Elite for 100s of hours years ago (on a Commodore 128). I'm playing on an Xbox One.
I bought the Thrustmaster HOTAS for Xbox / PC.
The guide that came with it intimated that I could power on the Xbox, plug it in, and play.
Wellllll.
I have the luxury of access to 2 different Xbox Ones of different vintage and a Windows 10 PC.
Neither Xbox One will play with the joystick. Occasionally, I'll get 1 key press from the joystick before the Xbox stops listening to it. The throttle and stick have never caused an effect in the game.
The PC, when it was first plugged in, recognized it as what it was and said "it's ready to use." Since then, it won't recognize it and the game won't respond to it on the PC.
In fact, with the switch on PC the status light doesn't light. With the switch on Xbox, but plugged into the PC the light lights up but the computer doesn't respond to the device at all.
I feel I'm missing something simple. I'm having trouble just concluding "I got a lemon, return it."
Any help?
