Thrustmaster HOTAS One Rocker Button not being recognized.

Logged into game today to find Throttle rocker button that controls lateral thrust and multiple window navigation no longer being recognized. It cannot be mapped to and what did work when I shutdown Wed before the powerplay tic, no longer works. It is still mapped but no response. I check another known working controller and get the same result. Has an update taken away the fun? Game is impossible to play without thrust control.

Do you have access to a PC? If you do, plug it in and run joy.cpl in the command box, just to make sure the stick is reporting inputs correctly

Yes, did that and it registers as it always has. Not sure what or why it changed since thursday, but very frustrating for sure.
Thanks for the response though; much appreciated.

i had the same issue not too long ago. i unplugged the HOTAS and plugged it back in and then did a full shut down on the Series X.

that fixed it.

I'll try it using your order of events. I have rebooted three times, but seems to still not work. Thanks for the tip. o7
I'm also not getting ship realignment when boosting. Hard to get aligned for a h-jump when boosting will not change your direction of movement.

Resolved both issues. If I could buy you pint of your fav beverage, well, I'd stop playing long enough to do it. o7 Cmdr.
Oh, I also added the quit the game so quick resume did not hold on to anything making this nefarious behavior happen. Back to powerplay. Thanks

glad it worked. and, yeah, i should have mentioned the to quit the game to bypass the Quick Resume.

i wish there was some way to shut that off.

Really. Like Auto-Correct, probably causes more problems than it ever CORRECTS. Anywho, must have been in a hurry to shutdown day before and forgot to quit the game and got some unwanted help. Thanks again, forum can be most helpful with emergent issues. Salvaged my gameday in short order and was able accomplish our powerplay goal. Updated my ticket so if anyone has similar issue, they might find your solution there too.

So I've noticed recently that the control panel for adjusting settings has changed in the thrustmaster.. you used to get the choice between 4/6 and 5/8 settings .. something to do with rudders being attached or not would change the actions of the stick and disable the rocker. You could set this in the joy.cpl controller command with a click but now it seems that you change this on PC by pressing the Xbox Guide button in the middle. If the light is ON it means it's been switched to the pedal configuration.. which disables the rocker. If the light is OFF it works normally.

As you are using it on the Xbox though I'm not sure that's the case of course but it might explain why there's been some screwy things with it lately as it seems to be the same result! I point the finger of blame to a new driver that has probably been downloaded to it in the interests of improved performance.

Thanks for the info; noticed the rocker disabling when testing both my HOTAS on my PC - but could not determine what setting was active on XBOX. I used to use pedals on XBOX, but once I started flying PC with a Warthog rig with TPR, swapping was not an option (sometimes have both accounts up and running). Good tip on switching option between 4/6 and 5/8 settings if I ever use it on PC, thanks. New driver download to help improve performance - sounds like auto-correct to me. As was once said, technology is not always your friend. Guess I'll have to get out my 3lb hammer and set it next to my XBSX to let it know who's boss - like trons can be intimidated ;)

The way I avoid the issue is to turn on the Xbox before I plug in the HOTAS. I used to get this issue all the time when I'd plug the HOTAS in and use the Xbox button on the stick to start the Xbox up. The way to solve it as has been mentioned in that case is to unplug it and plug it back in, you don't have to restart the console however. Now I start it up before I plug it in, haven't had the problem since.

Thanks. I have never had this happen until last week. XBOX One X had issues with the usb failing to be recognized so had to revise my rig (one seat with two flight sim setups Xbox (HOTAS One)/PC (Warthog w/TPR) so I could reset while in-game; this is just part of being flexible. I got caught off balance when it happened and this forum really came through quickly. System started up today without incident so we'll see if it continues. My guess is when U-9 rolls out things will change and since EDH on console is now using Odyssey Compatible version we'll probably see a variety of bugs come and go. Appreciate the response o7 Cmdr.
