Several times I've seen it mentioned on these forums that people modded their Thrustmaster HOTAS X T-flight setup to make a longer cable between the joystick part and the throttle part and posted instructions of how to make this modification yourself. But after searching for a long while, I still haven't found these "how-to" instructions and as I don't have any relevant experience in cutting / stripping / soldering cable stuff I'm hesitant to damage my joystick. I'd love to see the pictures of how others did this first, as it migh convince me I can do this too (or convince me it's an awful idea).
Reason I want to make this mod is that I want to place the joystick on the right armrest of my office chair and the throttle on the left armrest. Currently that would prevent me from being able to sit down / stand up from the chair as the cable would cross over my lap. I want to attach a longer cable which goes to the other armrest underneath the chair.
Any help / link / instructions are welcome and will be repped!
PS hope my question is clear, English ain't my first language.
