Hardware & Technical Thrustmaster T.16000 roll axis problem

I have a problem with the roll axis of my one-year old T.16000 Thrustmaster.

It constantly activates without input and puts my ship into a right roll. Very annoying.

I already tried to add a deadzone to the roll axis in Elite, but that does not work.

Any ideas /workarounds /solutions?
(Don't tell me to buy a new stick, that's the final solution :D)

Might be a loose/broken cable to the sensor. Or dirt.
Have you tried opening it up, cleaning it and inspecting all the cables?

When you say roll, I push the stick left or right to roll.

Do you have roll bound to that, or to the twist function of the stick?

The twist axis has a known issue, the pot fails. I just got a replacement stick from TM for that very issue. They went thru some troubleshooting, asked for videos and purchase documentation, then shipped a replacement after I sent a picture of the bottom with the SN label and the USB cable cut.

Or You could just replace the pot if you are moderately technically inclined, I have the part number somewhere if you are interested.

Yeah, it's the twist axis.

And it's still warranty I guess so I won't do-it-myself.

Yeah. If it's a twist axis and you have warranty, don't hesitate to return it. It will be the easiest way.

As a side note, though - What kind of maniac uses twist axis for roll?! :D :D

They won't want it back, they will want a picture of the bottom with the SN label and the cut USB cord.

I guess that depends on where you like. Where I live, there is a warranty program that requires sending the piece back to either have it repaired or replaced.
But anyway, the point we are both trying to make is that it's not worth the trouble to try and repair it yourself.
