Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS Controller

This nice Thrustmaster Hotas setup seems to be advertised as being ambidextrous. I can see how the joystick an be modified for a left handed joystick user, but what about the throttle control, I have seen no mention of how a lefty will be able to use the excellent functionality on the throttle section with the right hand (the buttons look unreachable in the right hand). Are there any left handed users out there who are currently using ED with this HOTAS setup who would like to comment? Maybe a dual joystick setup using the T16000 would be better than the HOTAS for a lefty? I do like the idea of a proper throttle though.

Don't hate me lol, but try learning to use it right handed.
I'm the most lefty person I know, i resisted for years, finally I gave up and bought a normal right handed hotas, i really wasn't sure if I could learn to use it, but suprisingly it didn't take long, now it just feels natural.

I'd say it took about a week of solid playing to really get it fixed in my head, at first I kept throttling instead of pitching lol, but it's totally worth doing as now I can use any hotas setup I want.

I still can't use a mouse right handed though :)

Yes, it's surprisingly easy to get used to a right-handed setup. It took me a few weeks to get properly used to it, but I only sucked for the first week. If I can manage this after 40+ years of using a left-handed stick, I'd expect anyone can.

Like Zarking, I still use the mouse in the left hand. I can use it in my right hand, but with a 50% penalty to speed and accuracy as I have no compelling reason to stick with it :)

BTW. I'm mainly saying you should try to switch to the common setup because it vastly opens up your upgrade choices if you want to. I've been waiting for left-handed devices to become common for a very long time and I see little signs of it happening any time soon.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have been considering going right handed, your input has somewhat inspired me to have a shot. Its either that or a dual joystick setup I guess, maybe two T16000Ms as I can convert one for left hand use (pitch etc) and the right handed one for thruster control. I am very impressed how quickly you adapted to right handed use - certainly does open up some tasty options going down that route.
