Hardware & Technical thrustmaster t-flight hotas x Hardmounts?

I am looking to get a Hotas setup again on the cheap.
I've had the Saitek x52 and x52 pro in the past and loved them, I just can't justify dropping over £100 again, on a controller I will use for just one game.
So I am looking at the Thrustmaster T-flight hotas x. Should be able to make that work for me.

Does anyone know if it has holes (on both parts) so I can bolt it to the desk? That's kind of important to me

Doesn't appear to have, but I find a hot glue gun works wonders.

lol

Nice idea but I can't perma-mount it.

I drilled holes in the desk for the x52s and just bolted it on when I was gonna use it, then when it was packed away I had my regular desk back :)

maybe I should just pony up and try the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Hotas.
Throttle looks a bit weird but, loads of buttons on that thing.

Mine does, but I hate it. I replaced it with the T.16000M FCS Hotas, which is superior in every way. I'm not really using either anymore. I just can't get enough accuracy for rails in FA off with a stick. Not that I'm any better with KB/M yet...

How's that sliding throttle on the FCS? Thought it might feel weird pushing and pulling on a track rather than rolling over a pivot like most throttles

The push/pull action itself feels fine (and as a bonus it matches the in-game throttle LOL). However, whilst "long movements" feel ok, the throttle tends to "stick" when doing small movements (i.e. when in combat). Apparently it's due to the cheap grease that TM have used on the rails - I'm just about to re-grease mine with a proper damping grease.

It's pretty good, actually. Mine felt a bit sticky in a couple places at first, but it was fine after a short break-in period. The rocker is probably my favorite feature. It is much smoother than the t-flight x, and is great for vertical thrusters.

Did you buy it with the pedals? I see it's only about £150 with those included, which is about what I paid for the x52 when I had that

I wasn't being entirely serious at the time, but now I think about it, you can glue it to a couple of bits of plywood and drill holes in that for mounting. Hot glue is relatively easy to remove if you want to take them off later as well.

No. I already had CH Pro pedals when I bought it. No need to replace what already works.

Funny thing though, now that I'm primarily flying KB/M, I only use pedals in the SRV (where they are awesome).

On the t-16000, throttle mainly i guess... Are any of the hats analog so we can actually modulate thrusters? Or just on/off?

Really good point, hope to pick up a hotas tomorrow and might just try this idea if i go the cheap setup route

There is one analog hat - it's designed to be controlled by the index finger so is a little fiddly and is super-sensitive. TM really should have put a thumb-controlled analog hat. Bad design IMO.

The one on the back of the throttle?
See i didn't mind that placement on the x52, so i assume I'd be ok with it on other throttles.

Might have found me a deal on the older x55

Ok thanks all for your input.
Ended up just getting an X52 again, I've had them before so just went with what i know in the end.
